Tweek, it's good if you attach them to the top part, as that reduces the risk of spinal injury. I couldn't get that to work, so I used the lower mounting point, which is also allowed in the Schroth instructions, but not as safe for the spine.

Greg, the 2" belts are only crap if you are trying to do track racing. They work just fine for solo and other low speed events. It all depends on what kind of events you are doing.

I guess they're OK for solo, I've just never felt clamped in with them even at an autocross. the location where the shoulder belts join the lap belt is too wide for my taste, and the thin belts feel like they're digging in when you really reef them down. I would almost always recommend 3" belts for someone who is looking to buy belts.

That actually makes sense. They did seem a little far apart, although the newer versions adjust that according to how tight you make the lap belt. As for the 2" diggingin, I guss I never had that problem since I was such a skinny guy (not so anymore... I've gained 25 lb since meeting an Italian woman who cooks!)

10 seconds, and the strap comes out, and you can work it back out through the seat.

You had to do it to install it, so i know you know how to do it... those big buckles won't fit through the seat back
actually, the left buckle fits with "proper motivation" applied. You need to thread it though both holes.

IMHO, messing with the belts is asking for trouble down the road.

dude, it's not rocket science, you're acting like by removing a clip, i'm superimposing some serious metal fatigue or something..

no, you use the right size screwdriver, and pop, it's off, pull it out, unloop the belt, i mean, i'll make a DIY, if it's needed, but really, you're not hurting anything more than what tightening a belt would be.

Besides, it all refers to the statement about these being removable. If you don't use them that way (removable), they're a hazard and a pain. For short term ( a week ), i'd leave them up, anything more and they're liable to go flying, come undone, or sit under your back and hurt like hell.

All this being said, the rallye 4's are a great harness, and they plug and play easily.

I just got my Rallye 3 harness today. Took me about 30 minutes to install (most of the time was spent on the inboard side of the seat, that bolt is a pain). I didn't have to take anything apart, I just fed the belt through one seat eyelet and then back through the other.

right now I'm still adjusting it. I have it fairly tight down on my lap and hips. the shoulder straps don't pull the lap belt up too much and keep me securely tied to the seat. Talk about a loving embrace. Now I can really feel the body roll with the EVO's stock suspension.

I'll post a review after the 19th when I've actually driven the car in anger at an event. I'll have a better idea then about how this harness is.
