After wearing out my Racing Brake 2-piece rotors, I started using Centrics. There was a small decrease in braking performance, but not much. Cheaper is better and the Centrics are much cheaper and work well.

Are those two piece? Link? Price?

I am looking specifically for a better than stock rotor as I do not and will not have front mount ducting system.

Call Kyle at Hotlap and see what he can get you a set of Racing Brake 2piece floaters for.

They stay a LOT cooler than the stock rotors and stand up well to the abuse while your at it.

didn't read the whole thread on my phone, but the dust boots don't make a difference. it's the inner seals you need to worry about. the brake guides would help. I've run cheap centric rotors for the longest with good results. i'd say if this is your dd, move your braking zones for high speed straight back about 100 ft and all your problems will disappear...

Jeff,
I am just completing the return of my car to stock. This will mean my 2 piece Stasis floating rotors and aluminum hats will be for sale.

Shoot me a PM if you might be interested.

Jeff,

I actually prefered the centric one piece rotors over my performance friction 2 piece rotors, and I went through two sets of those.

I plan on trying out the centrics when my stock rotors finally give out. I have heard great things about them, also the RB 2pc rotors. I think in the long run you will end up needing ducting anyway. I'm just as curious about the titanium shims.

LOL well, if you are already melting your brake components and you want to move your braking points forward more, then yeah you need a more drastic solution like a BBK. i don't think there is a way around it since you've already done pads and fluid, and air guides and ducting can only do so much. good luck! hope you get everything sorted! i'm curious to see what eventually works for you.

The biggest thing is that they are cheap as hell.

^ bump for an answer to the above question!

Also .... the jist of what I'm getting here is the two piece rotors really aren't that much bettter (if at all) cooling wise compared to a good solid rotor. They are lighter and thats about it. That is quite interesting.

Reading through a bunch of threads on this topic it seems even the average big brake kit isn't much better than stock. I guess the best option is to install a high pressure air front mount ducting system.

I was really hoping I could simply run upgrade rotors to help with my overheating issues.

well... depending on the pad don't bet on the ducts helping either. I still overheat my PMU LEVEL MAX 900s. I have 3" air inlets that go down to 2" to the Forge brake cooling ducts.... and I can still burn 'em up. The car is a powerful pig... no two ways about it. I'm still trying to feel out the right pads to handle the extreme temps.
