Russ...too late. I left work early today so I could install it. I wasn't that bad. I had to pull the dp anyways, as it was hitting the ACD and cross brace. I'll be getting a 2.75 dp tomorrow.

Jason...you are welcome. I really like the Whiteline products. I looked at the Works first, but it was overpriced in my opinion. If you are going to order some from an on-line vendor, give Speed Element a call and ask for Cal...he'll hook you up. Just mention my name.

Yes it is. As long as you either keep your factory cat or replace it with a nice aftermarket high flow cat after the DP.

Let me know what you think of the heavier sway bar. If I was going to do a sway bar change it would be to a 21mm Cusco bar. Although right now, I really like where my car is at with the setup I currently have. It just needs to lose some weight though!

I'll let you know if it was worth it. My front spring rate is 515 now, and I wanted the front end to be a little more flat. Too bad I have to work this weekend, or else I'd get a chance to test it before the SD National...oh well...not the first time I changed something before a National without testing it. Good thing for Friday's test-n-tune.
You could always put the driver on a diet...unless you are like me...< 10 % body fat. I wonder if anyone would protest if you (or someone) showed up missing the front bumper...stating he/she lost it driving to the event!!! How's that for weight savings.

Unfortunately this driver likes to hit the desserts a little too frequently and could stand to lose about 15 lbs., of course that would mean I would have to get the car cross weighted again, re-aligned, etc. It's just not worth it

dave,

as u know, every car generally exhibits some sort of bump steer,

it would be interesting to throw a gauge on one of the evo's at the shop, i may just have to do that...

I am pretty sure the answer is a no-no, but I will still ask. Would boost pill removal be legal in STU?

Thanks

Okay, so have we established that the Whiteline bumpsteer kit is indeed legal for STU? I'm kinda stuck on the metal content thing. Do you think people would be inclined to protest this part?

Dave, Corey, Richard comments please?

Well, kekek proposed a method of comparing the metal volume of the stock bushing to the metal volume of the whiteline part... but I don't think anybody actually took any measurements yet. Any volunteers?

I personally would not install the part before I knew the outcome of those measurements at least.

Some people already have them, so if anyone plans to do a weenie protest don't wait for nationals please.

Was this directed at me? I ask since you quoted my post.

I'm just giving my opinion (Dave Mac asked for comments).

Let's not start calling each other weenies already, it's only March

dang, this is turning into an SCCA forums thread.

This is not directed at you Corey but if this was protested at Nationals or locally, it probably would be viewed by almost everybody as a weenie protest.

Man, the Subaru guys are much more easier to get along with

I know none of you really know me yet, but you'll find that I'm one of the most easy going guys out there. And just so it's clear, I've never protested ANYBODY.

I'll tell you guys this just as a heads-up... there are lots of new people coming to join you guys on YOUR playground. We don't know everything about EVO's yet, so we're inspecting every little go-fast part out there. Most of us have previous experience building other cars for other classes. Most of us actually do read the rules, and almost all of us *think* we know how to interpret them. Sometimes we will question a part that has been commonly accepted as legal. In these cases, please help us to understand the reasoning behind your interpretation (just as Kekek did). Hopefully we all come to the same conclusion, but sometimes it's nice to have a fresh set of eyes on things just in case something inadvertently slipped past the masses. I think that's the point of this thread, no?
