Lewis Hamilton is the $hit (Formula 1)

Very few times I am impressed with a driver unless they consistently prove they are competitive. For those enthusiast of Formula one like me I am sure you wouldn't disagree a word with my statements.

Aren't you guys impressed with this 20 year old rookie? First year in Formula one and the first two races he is on the podium. Get this, he has never ever ever raced on these two circuits before so they are new to him.

Remember, this guy came straight from GP2 and Formula 3000. As I said before, this guy is very promising and with the pace he is achieving it looks like a firm candidate to a world championship but obviously with the consent of Kimi and Alonso.

Speaking of the race from yesterday, I thought Ferrari was going to dominate because I believe they still have a better car. In case you haven't figure out yet, I am 200% Alonso supporter but I also admit Kimi is a heck of a driver.

Just for reference, there are other drivers with 10-12 years experience like Coulthard and Barrichelo or ex-Villenueve that can't even do that, this rookie comes and not only gets podium but also managed 2 row poles... unreal bro!

To me, the most remarkable part of the race was the double pass from Massa to Hamilton and in a splitt second the overtaking from Hamilton to Massa, I physically jumped of my sofa!! simply fantastic..

Please comment. Thanks!

Carlos

Agreed, but Coulthard, Barrichello and Villeneuve don't/havent' had equipment capable of doing so well in the last couple years (Well...Barrichello only for the last year )

Lewis Hamilton is good and there's no doubt about that. But I think his good form is due to the fact that he's in a good car as well. To me if you're good, you'll show yourself in a small team like Micheal when he debuted in a jordan and qualified 7th in his first GP. Alonso qualifying 14th in a minardi. Lewis is in a championship winning car so there's no doubt that he's going to perform well.

I still think that the driver to get at the moment is Nico Rosberg. Qualifying 6th in Williams Toyota, and setting the fasted lap time at Bahran in 2006. That was his very 1st gp and it's a track that he has never been too. IMO I rate Nico higher then Lewis.

Yeah I am extremely impressed with Hamilton, although today's performance pissed me off since he was holding up my man Kimi.

i did not see the race yet (i cant seem to stay awake)
i saw the last session of qaulifying twice but no race

i do agree that hamilton is good though how good we wont be able to tell till later in the season and see if he's crackable. so far from what i have seen from him you cant tell if he is a stud or a kid still running off adrenaline.

maybe if i see that pass you were talking about it might totally change my thought process

as for kimi, someone give me reasons to like him! i just cant let my self like him for some reason, its almost like i dont like him personally. i want to like him and i ususally feel sory for talented drivers that where in a position that he was in!

Beginning of sepang sure was exciting, but after first round of pit stops you could stop watching because the running order does not change for the rest of the race.

MattyB,

Just wait to you see it. Try to visualize two cars running into a 180 degree curve in which they came at 180mph from a staright line, then Felipe Massa squeezes the last foot of road to get ahead of Hamilton but right after he passes Hamilton he physically runs out of room so he turns wide open right after he overtakes Hamilton.

The second action part is Hamilton overtaking him from the inside one second after he was just passed/overtaken by Massa.

Summary, two drivers overtaking each other in a 180 degree curve in less than 2 seconds, simply priceless and not seen very often.

It just happened so fast and so precise that makes you jump from the seat and say WOW!! Remember, these are the only cars in the world capable of doing such maneuvers(200mph to 0mph in 3-4 seconds, changing directions at 200mph, pulling 4gs while braking, etc, etc).
You wouldn't definately see such maneuvers in Nascar or any other car event.

Carlos

Hamilton is for sure the real deal... Ron Dennis has nertured him and brought him along since he was like 10. That didn't take long to pay off for him. I still think Kimi is the fast driver in the world. He was my man when he drove for Mclaren and still is. That being said, Lewis is the luckiest kid in the world and can get any a$$ he wants in Europe right now...

Hey fromWRXtoEVo I think you're an F1 freak, and so am I. I just don't get Massa. He just totally lost it after he ran wide when trying to over take Hamilton. But the beginning and ending was exciting. Massa trying to Hamilton and then Kimmi narrow down Hamilton to less then a Second in the final turn. That was crazy.

i wonder how team order will play out between Hamilton and Alonso when Hamilton is in reach of the world championship. this kid is pure talent, he out drove Massa and that's plan and simple. i think Kimi was holding back a little to save his engine. i would have like to see him go all out the whole race like he did towards the end catching up to Hamilton. i think kimi could have passed Hamilton if there was two more laps to go.

on another note, what the heck happened to Honda? they put the ridiculous paint scheme on their car and now the car is a pile of ****. good to see Super Aguri moving up the world though.

I am very dissapointed in the BMW team Their car seems to be having problems second race in a row... I do give a lot of credit to Hamilton great race yesterday i am a Robert Kubica Fan all the way i think this 21 year old kid knows his shiet... If only BMW can prepare the car the way it would be this kid is going to on the podium very offten...
