Sorry to hear about your car Jay!!! What was the issue? I hope it wasn't the T-case... not that I would know about breaking that POS.

Glad you had fun, and yes, your friends at the event makes it worthwhile.

DC was awesome, ProSolo's rock, no doubt about it.

What I learned this weekend, do not drink in excess Friday night (with a guy named Simmons) or you will drive like crap on Sat., I think I had the shakes in the morning runs! I am definitely a little to old to hang like that.

After my car not working right at Deven's, I know how you feel John, hope it all works out with your car. Adam Fuhs brought a ACD pump for my car and we installed it Friday in the parking lot, so I was last minute getting car to finally work. Maybe thats why I drank so much Friday, I was happy?

Let me also say that the TRE rear diff upgrade rocks, I now have to learn how to drive the car again, meaning I can be more aggressive powering out of turns .

Since John was in STU, I enjoyed my 2nd place trophy from the weekend. Nice meeting you (Mike, Point and Shoot) again this weekend.

Nice to see you too. By the way, I checked whether I could have taken 2nd place if I hadn't red-lighted (.466) one of my best runs on the right course (29.0xx) and you would still have beaten me by a few hundredths of a sec. Nice driving!

I can't make Toledo (family reunion), but who all's going to Finger Lakes?

Hey guys,

I'm starting to look into the auto-xing and started by reading this part of evom to gain some knowledge. I'm coming from street / drag racing scene so all of this is new to me. I have been on the scca website and have downloaded the solo rules and classifications. Also, I have been on the houston - scca website to see what i could get there as well.

I have come to the conclusion due to my mods that I fit into BSP, but I have a question. Here are my following mods.

Buschur TBE (no cat), Buschur full intake, Exedy Twin HD, electric boost controller, and tune (Jestr).

Any ways reading the rules I came across section 15.10 - F, which talks about emission controls. Which states you can not alter the valve cover or cam cover and add a breather. Well because of my intake I have a breather filter on my valve cover, is this illegal in BSP?

I know I won't be competitive but just want to start getting my feet wet, and I will probably be put in a rookie / newbie class with an instructor (that's a given). I am on the stock suspension and rims. I know tire are important too, so for that I will pick up some Yoko Advan Neova's for now. I'm just getting started so if you can help me out a bit. Thanks!

if you just unplugged the hose and put a breather filter on the nipple on the valve cover, you're fine.

If you drilled a hole in your valve cover to install an oversized/extra breather, you're illegal.

I suspect you just put a filter on the factory nipple which is ok for BSP.

thanks for the response guys, like I said im a newbie to this, and I am reading as much as possible. Also I know more seat time will gain me the most experience on the auto x / tracks.......

SS RX7 r2.....thanks for the tire recommendation, on the STU thread seems like the yokohama was working very well. For now I will run street tires, until I change suspension (coilovers ) i will run r-comps.

griceiv, thanks for the clarification on the breather on the valve cover. You are correct I just placed a breather filter over the stock nipple on the valve cover.

You must have stopped reading the STU thread before March this year.

Looking for a good BSP suspension
Now that it's clear that Zzyzx coilovers are made out of "unobtanium", I'm looking for recommendations for where to get some BSP-quality coilovers, double adjustable, and suitable for spring rates of 12kg to 16kg. I want something based on one of the top, well-known, re-valvable brands, like Koni, Ohlins or Moton. Also, will consider buying used. I don't need springs, but the coilovers have to use 2.5" diamer springs, because that's what I have.

Any recommendations or offers to sell?

Mike

I think you just answered your own question.

She's going because she got a co-drive offer from Alex, and we think she has a shot at winning DSPL. She got to within about 2 secs of Alex on Sunday at the BMW event at Devens, which was only her second time in his car. They're going out to the FingerLakes in a week or two for a test and tune, so Theresas will get one more chance to practice in his car before the big event.

I'm not going out to Nationals because I'm not sure I can trophy and it's not worth it to me otherwise. I still need a competitive suspension, and it looks like I also have to learn to drive at least 1 sec faster on a 60 sec course to be in the top 5 nationally. Still working on it . . . probably next year. I would have gone if I hadn't had to buy a new engine instead of a new suspension.

Meanwhile, Steve Hazard is co-driving with me while his car is out of commission. He's thinking of replacing it with an Evo and wants to try one out. Should be interesting.

Hey guys..... bringing this thread back to life. I'm in Iraq right now so my season is over but I'm thinking about next season. Never too late, right?

I was reading the rules and i had a question i hope someone could answer - in the street prepared section, it says intercoolers and charge air coolers are open to mod but as i read further in it says the wastegate cannot chance size or location. I'm corn-fused. If you change your IC piping ( I was going to go with a Buschur unit ) wouldn't you technically need to change the location too? and that would kind of negate the ability to change piping right?

Can someone shed a little light on this for me? Thanks and keep the shiny side up. See you next season.

Were you thinking of the BOV? The wastegate should be part of the turbo where the BOV would be an IC pipe stiuation.
