2008 BSP Discussion
I did not mean to type that way, what I meant was you need 5 cars per class or they move cars to different class, so yes to what you said. Come to think of it that happened at the ProSolo, so since this is my first National Tour event not sure how they look at qty. of cars per class.

"The **** is not at this time recommending any changes with regard to the SP classification of the Mitsubishi Evolution and
Subaru WRX STI. It is the committee’s position that other recommended changes will help competitiveness for some of the other existing
cars in BSP."

although it looks like we're going to have to deal with gxp/redlines and e46 M3's. i'm ok with that. just as long as we're not up against GT2's.

bump class is only for pro's. at a tour you run in your assigned class. the only difference is that most of the contingencies need 3 cars (or there abouts) to pay out. I believe hoosier is the only one that evo's qualify for in SP.

There is NO bump class at the National Tour. If there is one car you have one car. I'm just hoping we have a good showing for several reasons, 1) it's nice to have lots of cars in class from a competition standpoint 2) you need 3 cars minimum for partial tire contingency and 5 for full tire contingency.
Being in BSP we have the option of running SM or XP if we want to. SM looks like it should be a good fight. Remember GJ was the fastest driver (in Chris Travis SM Civic) at the tour last year, so Mark is certainly not unbeatable. But I will say that just because he's not out too much doesn't mean he isn't working on the car. He also did a good bit of development after Devens last year. I can't wait personally.
It's really looking like we'll have a good size class if everyone shows. Don't know what the deadline is to register for this, but last I checked there was only 4 cars and I think their mostly AWD. I'm psyched that Don is making th trip in is Mazdaspeed Miata and it would be great to see Steve hazard in his M3.
John
Hoosier & Kumho both have contingency in SP. One is tires the other is cash.
What a bump class was for me at the El Toro ProSolo: Instead of winning a 3-car Street Modified field and winning a Hoosier contingency, I placed 4th in Bump Class 2 and got a front row seat for the Tom Berry / Marshall Grice BSP show -- and went home empty handed when one of my buddies failed to pick up my 4th place trophy. (No tires of course.)
Back in 2004 when I started doing ProSolos, Street Modified was drawing 10+ cars to every event...
At the Atlanta Doublecross there were only 2 SM cars. I was kind of surprised.
Looks like Lee is taking his ball (cones?) and going to play in FP. I haven't seen the level of bi*ching I thought I would over on the other boards.
There will be a whole herd of Philly Region guys at Devens. I think we're up to 26 and still counting. If anyone wants to come over and introduce themselves, just wait until Saturday night and follow the sound of the drunken idiots.
Here is some footage of the post-saturday antics at Atlanta last weekend.

You going to be at Devens Nationals in a few weeks?
I'll prod him into coming to the tour event when I see him this weekend at the 2nd BMW event.
By the way, I found a source for sealed 5-gallon cans of Sunoco GT+ (104 octane) "near" Devens. It's:
Caryn's Country Convenience. 75 Rt 13, Brookline, NH 03033. (603) 249-9005
about 1/2 hour north of Ayer, in case anyone's interested. I'll be going there to pick up a can or two.

I can tell you that Steve has his M3 back on the track. He did pretty well with it at the first BMW event at Devens, considering he wasn't used to the new suspension, and hadn't raced the car in two years (2nd fastest time of the day).

how much do they want for 104? pricing near me is now $58 for a 5 gal jug. was $46 last year.
Why was I was thinking it would be about $7-8/gal! I bought Sunoco race gas at Watkins Glen in 2006 for about $6.50/gal at the pump. But that was then, and this is now...I'll check on the price before I go up and let you know.
