Heres a few pics from this weekend that I had a chance to play with a little.

 

Wait a minute, isn't taking my street class legal car (with 30k miles that has taken my kids to school for the last 2 years) up to mod, being fastest qualifier (even tho I qualified in mod with my street tires) and then barely missing the mod class win by just .2 seconds aiming high?

Wouldnt that be like you taking your mod class car and also racing it competitively in unlimited?




I assure you that we are not fudging dyno numbers, what would be the point? Didnt Robi (the cute little guy with dirty hands that you all love to worship who also happens to look damn sexy on TV working on Solstices ) race me at Spring Mountain in a car that has 750whp claims on youtube but was de-tuned to about 500whp for roadrace? (while I won with my stock engine, stock wheels car) I can get you a free run on Harman's dyno with the "bumble-bee" if you want to see how the #'s for your/my car compare, interested?

There are lots of speculation/claims/accusations about why my street vs mod times are so close. All I can say is that my 255 Yokohama Neovas are exceptional street compound tires while my same size "R" compound Yokohama A048's are merely decent. The A048's are OEM on several cars while you wont see that with NT01's etc. Yokohama is due for a new R comp tire and I'm sure it will be awesome when it arrives. A change to wider tires for mod class may be in the works, that alone should get me at least the .2 seconds I needed, what do you think?


Thanks again for the great competition and keeping us honest. I know you guys would love me more if my car said Evo instead of STI but oh well, I understand

Breaking into the 1:58's in a mostly stock car on R compounds is impressive! Great job/effort and I look forward to doing battle with you in the future!

Being the stock motor/wheels/etc underdog all last year, I feel for ya! I just figured that it's about time that I bring my game up to what many of the other guys are running.

 

I would like to thanks Redline for putting on a great event. This was my first time attack I have ever ran. Ended up running a 2:02.865 with my Evo 9, stock engine, turbo, intercooler, etc. except cams and bolt ons. Motons tuned by Robi Spec.

I would like to thanks MFQ, Dieter,Robi, and Ldogdizzle (driving tips) for all the help on my first event. It was a pleasure meeting everyone and hope to see you guys soon.

 

JC, just poking fun! It was a blast no matter what. I hope to bring a gun to a gun fight next time. We'll see.

Shannon-evo, anytime!!!! I love helping drivers to go faster. It's all worth it when you told me it made a big difference.

 

That's exactly what I was thinkin all last year and judging by some of the responses/results, I think I finaly did just that!

BTW, anyone getting near or under 2:00 in a truly street driven car should be proud of their accomplishments, I know I was last year. Funny how the haters come out of the woodwork now that I am going faster, Oh well. Just dont hate me because I'm beautiful.....

my 1:58.4 last year was on a stock 2.0 block & head with a 20g-9 turbo......... on old re01r's, interior & rollbar in the car to boot!

you talking about other guys in MOD class? cause I thought I was your only competition
