[quote=mitsuatb;5604640]My attitude is fine.

Used battery packs that have crashed, Like explosions in your cars?

Everybody loves electric cars, but where does the power come from to charge them?

So they burn fossil fuels indirectly, what s the gain in that?

Trains use diesel electric since they have a hard time building a reliable mechanical system to handle that much power. They do not store power, nothing hybird about it.

Every energy conversion has waste.

A small diesel engine could out perform your Prius, check out PM they have a whole story about it.

I am weary of typing, go find accurate info, I have already lead you to water.

Now you're funny

First off I guess we should all take your advice and never purchase anything from a wrecked car.... thank you but I'm currently using these dangerous batteries from wrecked Prius' in the electric car that I built without any problems.

Secondly, if we chose to believe that electricity can only be generated by burning coal, splitting atoms or something equally as naive then your opinion is valid. Good thing that we can also wind, hydro, solar or the tides which the last time I checked aren't big polluters and the only cost is maintenance of the equipment that is providing the power. Oh wait.... windmills are ugly and dams kill fish and yadda yadda I guess a coal fire power plant could make a man's eyes get all misty with pride.

Please do a search for what the rest of the world agrees is a hybrid. A train doesn't have to have regen to be considered a hybrid and you may want to check your facts about the capabilities of the Prius when comparing it to a just a diesel. When a larger battery pack is installed into a Prius

You teach me nothing new but don't worry I don't hold grudges.

Exactly!!! Electricity can be produced (converted) from a variety of ways. Imagine solar panels on your car recharging the car as you drive. The SUN is one of the largest sources of energy, it fuels the wind and the hydro based systems. Its all about energy conversion efficiency and electric motors have always been more efficient than their gasoline counterparts. In your typical car the internal combustion engine usually wastes 80% or the energy as heat!!!

Don't let the factless propoganda that electric battery waste is toxic fool you. Processes are continueously improving and batteries are being made the are non toxic and more efficient. For more info on batteries:
