Wheel width of STU champions?

In reference to the 245 tire... can someone please tell me what wheel width and offset have the STU chamions had the best results with?

On a side note: I'm thinking about running the Enkei RPF1 17X8.5 -30 @ 15.5 pounds. Is this the hot ticket or is there a better option?

Thanks!

AFAIK, 17x7.5 in '05 and '06, and 17x9? in '07. Paulson would know for sure.

The RPF1 is a good light wheel. If you go 17x9, they need spacers to clear the calipers. LMK if you need spacers, as I make custom 19mm ones for those wheels.

Right in the money Rick. The 245 Yoks are nice and square on the 9's.

Thanks for the info.

I'm thinking about going with the 9" now. I heard that you really only NEED spacers for the front wheels to clear. However, is it typically best practice to put the spacers on all four wheels? How much $$ are the spacers?

Also, how does the tire fit the fender with that offset and spacer? Especially with coilovers and a little lowering. Will it fit fine? Rubbing?

I'm kinda looking for a setup that will be good for STU class and yet still streetable. Is this a realistic expectation?

Sorry for all the questions. I just want to know the details so I know what to expect. Thanks.

RPF1s in 17x8.5 +30 do not weigh 15.5lbs. It's more like 16.9.

Just spacers in the front to clear the bigger calipers.

Check H&R spacers for a typical price.

245/40-17 are a relatively small and short tire for the Evo's wheel well, so no rubbing anywhere.

* My RPF1s weigh 16.4 lbs

Thank you. That all sounds good and exactly what I needed to know. I can buy with confidence.

As for the weight, I believe you, but am surprised because the vendor said they were a pound lighter http://www.enkei.com/RacingSeriesSpecs/RPF1.html

Shocking eh?
