Track Day Aero Package
got a chance to see the underpanel and back bumper vents.
The under panel looks clean and sharp. The show and shine guys ought to go crazy over the back bumper vents. They look swank.
You will prolly see some nice stuff come from jid2

Because Aluminum is such a good conductor of heat if the air temp in between the exhaust and the underpanel was noticeably hot that heat would have been quickly transfered to the underpanel itself. At the same time any heat transfered to the underpanel would then be transfered to the cool air under the car. Aluminums high thermal conductivity is why it is used for all types of heat exchangers. That's why the underpanel in the center section is not plastic. Even if the plastic was high temp, it is a horrible conductor of heat; it's really an insulator.
That said I'm planning on installing the digital temperature probes on the chassis and verifying things with some empirical data. The pannel comes off pretty easy.

The goal should be the opposite. The front does the majority of both braking and turning, so you want to maximize front downforce. Get as much grip in the front as you can, then balance the rear. . .
Clear Shots
You need to get your car up on a lift with good lighting so we can get a better view of the bottom of the car with everything installed!
It's a little dark in those pics with only that "stick" light illuminating the underside of the car while on the jack stands.

I'll snap some better ones when I get home this evening.
Look for a thread on the side-skirts being available very soon. That is a part that I feel is ready to go, and has a short lead-time. Plus they are the first parts required for the flat bottom configuration.

Here are some slightly better images.
I'll be taking a few parts back off the car this evening to pull some dimensions, weight them and test some shipping ideas.

Here are some images I'll be posting about the rear bumper vents as well.

That is good stuff!
