You could try to get reclassified by dyno and get a new min competition weight and base class. What do you dyno at?

It doesn't always work out, but it's worth a shot for those that have crazy amounts of mod points but not a lot of power added on. For example, it you change to a different turbo but don't gain a lot of peak whp it could be beneficial.

I've always wondered, the rules for tts only list tires 275 and smaller, so whats the points for 285's?

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 450-480whp and 3100# race weight. . .

Ya know, I've wondered that myself! I was thinking of running 285's if I were doing TTA this year as I had some extra pts to play with - or use it on aero. I didn't go far enough to ask though.

You'd think, because these vette guys and all of the RWD's are using some 300+mm tires that they'd be listed....somehow?

I dont see how NASA will allow you to run that and not take points for it. To be certain post that question on the NASA boards in the TT section for a ruling.

Jarrod, you are way beyond the points system. You fall into the semi-unlimited group of TTS/TTU, or TTR which is unlimited. Given your CW and whp, you are way beyond TTS which is limited to 8.70. That would also depend on your mod factors, ie tire size, cw, and so on. Either way, just by doing the straight math without any mod factors youre at about... 3100 / 480 = 6.45. If youre running tires bigger than 275s, and if your CW is 3100, your adjusted weight/power ratio is 5.75. Divide 3100 by 5.75 and that will be the amount of whp you can make to be legal in TTU, my math says 539whp. If your power figures are determined by a mustang dyno, Greg from what i last recall wants people to adjust it with a 10% factor. That means, theyre claiming that mustang dynos read only 10% lower than dynojets. So if your car makes 400whp on a MD, its more like making 440whp on a dynojet. Make sure with Greg.

TTS = 8.7
TTU = 5.5

There's a section that states any mod that is not listed as free; isn't free. I'm almost sure this would fall into that. Assuming that; no idea what the pt value would be. ECU reflashes are now free so it might be grouped in with that.

There's some people out there that'll say if they can't check for it - you don't have to 'claim' it though.

That was my initial assumption.

Well, if ECU reflashes should be claimed, then I think it's only 'fair' to claim ACD reflashes. Just that ECU reflashes are now free.

You guys are correct about the ECU flash. However, some people might claim this falls into the "suspension" category. I havent kept up with the TT rules so im not certain, but if i were you, i would make sure. Last thing you want is to be labeled a cheater. Despite what everyone sees and reads about on all the boards, lots of things happen offline in the background. And no matter what region it happens in, everyone will eventually hear about it. Action is not always taken, but your fellow competitors will find out somehow, someday. Trust me, you dont want your name discussed in such matters. Once youre labeled a cheater, no matter what you do everyone knows you as a cheater.

Cheater!

LOL. I definitely agree and I wouldn't even try slipping it in without getting an official response from NASA.

Last year at an SCCA tour event I was at the bottom of the class due to having no clean runs, and yet I had a fellow competitor question the lack of sound deadening material in my trunk (IX RS)... WTF??

Btw, i wasnt directing my post towards you, or anyone specifically. I just wanted to let you know how things are. Good luck out there, and remember that youre doing all this to have fun.
