Australian Superlap 2010 - World Time Attack Challenge
I have not seen Wynn's sponsoring a car or event for a long time. Surprised not to see a purple race car. I was lucky to see their GTP car when it battled against the Nissan and Porsche 962's prototypes.
Final times are here http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re...2010.EAST.S2.Y
CyberEVO 1:30.5870
Sierra Sierra 1:31.8840 +0:01.2970
Tomei/Cusco 1:31.9010 +0:01.3140
Congrats to Sierra. That CyberEvo and Tarzan obviously have been doing this a long time and probably pushed themselves a little harder because of Sierra.

you gotta be kidding me.... you build a 250k+ evo and put a Professional driver in it and you lose to a evo that really could be built in anyones garage? Ha!
I love the Sierra Sierra guys but holy hell I would be pissed, a former race team pours oodles of money, testing, and fabrication into something and to be beat by a relatively simple setup in comparison is hilarious to me.
Not only that but when will some teams figure out that weight is everything? I mean I saw the wet weight for Sierra Sierra and I was amazed it wasnt lighter. (maybe they where holding back but whatever)

Yes, the SSE weighs 300-400lbs more than the Cyber Evo. You wonder why? Safety comes to mind. They have a proper racing roll-cage made of proper strength materials.
The Japanese time attack cars tend to not have safety as a top concern, at least based on some of my observations. Some of them use thinner wall tubing for their cages to save weight. How about that fuel setup in the one FD right next to the driver? Would you want to be racing in that car? I wouldn't.
Speaking of safetly, you like how the rear wing failed on the Cyber Evo? That's because it was mounted to a flimsy-***, lightweigt (too light weight apparently) trunk. If that wing had failed in a high speed corner, that car would be a wad of metal.
If the wing had failed ~150m further down the straight or ~1s later, it would've been a wad of metal, they are taking that first turn at 230+, most just lift off to settle the front end before turning in.
Even with the heap of speed the CyberEvo had washed off by the corner, it was eye opening how loose the rear was when he took the corner.
Agree on some of the points above however I myself was very amazed how basic the Cyber car looked at first glance, stock Brembo calipers, stock sized rear rotors, full chassis front end etc. Although like most cars, 80% of the pace is in suspension setup and aero.
