If this setup is NASA legal then I'm sold. This is exactly what I need for my setup to run E85. If I go with the Bosch 044 intending to run E85 (1450cc injectors) will a single Walbro 255 lph be enough to feed the surge tank?

What is the ideal configuration for a car wanting to run ~500 whp worth of E85?

It's NASA legal for TT and HPDE all day, but not for racing. So if the plan is to do DE/TT for the next year or two go for it, but if you plan to race this car sooner then later i'd rethink.

the NASA CCR doesn't explicitly call out surge tanks. it just says fuel cells are required in some classes, and that fuel pumps, lines and fittings all need to be seperated by a bulk head. are you looking at a specific class that calls it out?

Actually thats fine by me as my car is ONLY intended for TT/TA. I have absolutely zero desire to do wheel to wheel racing in my Evo, and love TT racing.

That was my argument as well and I was sent clear up the chain to John Lindsey who claimed that it'll be a tech bullitin soon but the chief's rule stands that no container with any amount of fuel excluding filters that are not FT3 certified with all the "proper install materials" including the bulkhead and container. So by the time you spend the $ to get it "right" you'll have a fuel cell anyway. This'll only apply to ALL race classes. TT still follows the HPDE tech rules which are up to your regional tech inspector to deem safe or not in detail. With yours I don't think you'll ever have a TT issue....esp in the Tx region .

I got some preliminary pics of the car today. I've been sick half to death since Saturday morning with the worst stomach flu I've ever had, and then spent the last 16 hours in the ER with my wife from the same flu. Thankfully Agile Auto cheered me up with some pictures of the new wing on the car, and the new splitter/bumper setup coming together. I should be able to take a TON of pictures once I pick the car up later this week (eyeing Saturday realistically at this point) and I'll take some HD video as well. For now I've updated my first post with some new teaser pics.

The splitter is still being worked on, they are trying to make the bumper cover and splitter easily removable so I can get the car on the trailer, also they are working on the supports to prevent flex. Because of the Street Modified rules for RTA/GTA I cannot extend the splitter into a full undertray without getting bounced into Unlimited (hell no). I have to try and match the stock undertray as much as possible and keep the splitter within 5" of the factory bodywork.

interesting. i wonder if they would let you go as far back as the factory cross member without adding mod points and if it would provide any real gains...i really need to get hands on with this stuff lol.
