Blackenedwings '06 IX MR build thread
Just got it back! Agile went above and beyond this time... in addition to the brake ducting, they came up with a full ducting cowl for all of the brake intakes, radiator and intercooler so they catch incoming air and funnel them to the necessary areas. The car looks straight up MEAN. The bumper/splitter is totally removable now with a series of hex keys and is very strongly mounted. I doubt I'll be taking any pics of me standing on it, but its on there! The wing is just a work of art... worth the wait for sure. I didn't get any really high res pics yet, but here are some cell phone pics to hold everyone for now.

Well, I haven't had time to take any video yet... my GoPro was out of juice last weekend, and I've been busy as hell this week. I'll try and get some this weekend. I did get a chance to drive the car through a few backroads today in a "spirited" fashion. Obviously I won't get to come even close to testing the limits of the car until next months event at Summit, but I can say with authority that the car is going to be blistering fast.
Biggest changes of note... higher spring rates and new more aggressive alignment keep the car planted in the corners. The new aero is doing work, the Kognition wing in addition to being an absolute work of art is generating a LOT of downforce. The front setup is offsetting it nicely as I don't have any mid-corner push. Lastly, the Weir Performance 12-plate LSD is amazing. I wasn't sure I would really notice the difference, but its night and day. I got on the throttle mid-turn today and the rear end came out like a RWD car. Controllable, but definitely nothing I've experienced in the Evo before lol. All in all, I'm thrilled with the changes to the car. More pics/video later this weekend!

Went out and washed the car today and played around with the GoPro a bit. I'll post a short view of me driving around, but its not all that exciting as I'm obviously not doing anything illegal/stupid. Some pics of the car all cleaned up!

Short video of my driving around town... nothing crazy, but checking out my new roll-bar camera mount. I'm not 100% sure I like the position. I might need to raise it up a bit.

After looking a bit more at the events this year, I'm dropping the October NJMP event off my list. If things come together time-wise and finances by October I may consider still going, but most of my racing buddies won't be attending that event and I just dropped a hefty chunk on a full set of safety gear. I just picked up a nice Sparco suit, carbonX underwear/socks/balaclava, new SA2010 helmet, and a HANS. Woo.

It doesn't even have a stereo now.
