Well, I'll definitely be at NJMP Lightning in 2 months. I was going to run Hyperfest at Summit Point since I've run that the last 2 years and it was my first track event ever. However, I've run at Summit like 12 times and I think I'm going to skip Hyperfest DE (I may go to hang out) this year. This car is stupid expensive to run and I think I've already burned through my brand new set of DTC60s in only two weekends.

I would like to do Lightning, and then go back later in the season for Thunderbolt again, so finances permitting thats what I'll do.

There is a pretty large group of EVO's who track their cars in the Philadelphias Classiest Drunkards thread. you should pop in and try to coordinate your schedule with some of us so you can be at the track with more EVO's because, as I'm sure you know, more evos = more better!

Between all of us we are doing something motorsports related pretty much every weekend, lol. HOpe to see that beast of yours out at an event soon. Looking forward to trying to chase you and Frank around, lol.

Lol awesome. Yeah, I met a couple of the "classiest drunkards" at the NJMP event. There were a LOT of Evo's there, which is really cool because there are only a couple at the MidAtlantic events I normally run. I think honda-guy is the only one who I have seen regularly.

^ it was nice to see you there. we didn't get to chat much because i didn't even know you were there until Frank told me he was instructing an Evo and we decided to come over to see your car. I've been trying to get more guys from the mid-atlantic region to come out to NJMP because i know they would love the track. most of them just go to VIR and Summit.

i might just go to Hyperfest and hang out with friends or i might do the nasa TT there sunday. not sure yet. we have several events lined up coming up. NARRA at NJMP June 9-10, Trackdaze at NJMP June23-24, NARRA at Monticello August 25-26, BMW at Glen September 22-23. those are just a few confirmed now. there are more planned events in between.

Yeah, always good to see you man, glad you managed to pop over and hang for a few. I'm definitely hooked on NJMP, and I should be up there for Lightning and then hopefully Thunderbolt again in October. Glen is a bit far for me, so I doubt I'll make it up there this season, but maybe next season! I really enjoyed driving a track that isn't Summit, since I've been there so many times lol.

I've got some updates coming, but the car is in the shop right now. I burned out a brand new set of pads and rotors, a set of brand new tires and broke my transmission (again) during my last event. We ran the car hard though, for about 20 sessions over 2 days at Thunderbolt, so its not all that surprising.

Any chance you'll be at the NASA event at VIR July 21-22? Your car right now is about on par with mine, even down to the tires, and would be fun to have someone to gauge my car and skill against. I'll be there participating in the UTCC on Friday then planning to stay on for TT Sat/Sun.

I haven't run at VIR yet, its just such a hike from my place that I haven't made it down there so far. I plan to eventually, but this season I'll be running any remaining events at NJMP or Summit. I really want to run Thunderbolt again... it was a lot of fun. Do you have a build thread? I would love to see someone that has similar mods on their MR.

I am swapping over to NT01s now as I'm pretty confident its time to step up to an R-compound and the car is just too fast for a street tire. I'm tearing brand new NT05 street tires up in one weekend.

I don't really have a build thread yet. The track car isn't the MR actually, it's my Eclipse

One weekend? Wow, I've had three weekends on my NT05s and I've got plenty of tread left.

Well I'll have to look you up next Summit or NJMP event I hit. I was at Hyperfest so it's sad you skipped out on that one. I don't know the next time I'll go to Summit. UTCC is the target and if the car survives I'll then plan out the rest of the summer and fall.

You should definitely try to get to VIR as soon as possible, on the Full or Grand configs. I think once you do you'll find it's well worth the drive. I've never driven NJMP so I can't compare but it really makes Summit Point seem like a kart track by comparison.

That's nuts...

I was able to get Honda-guy's beatdown set of Hoosier R6 over the weekend to try out. Holy moly, what a big difference in traction. I'm used to running Dunlops Z1s. My only issues were it was very beat down, so there wasn't much left in the tire after the two sessions. The rear felt reall twitchy after. I'm planning to get NT01s also.

Well in fairness, it wasn't just me driving the car. My coach is a Grand Am driver who is co-driving the car this season. He's obviously a lot faster than I am and really pushes the car. Between both of us, thats a lot of brakes/tires/fuel.

Summit already feels like a kart track after running Thunderbolt hehe. We ran the Grand Am layout with turn 2 chicane and it was the most fun I've had on a track so far. I definitely want to run VIR, I just need to take an extra day off work so I can come back on Monday instead of Sunday, an extra night in a hotel etc. I need to bug some of my racing friends to go with me next season.

Nice, I haven't gotten a chance to run on Hoosiers yet, but I've been slowly working myself up to stickier tires. My coach was adamant that he didn't want me to go out there on R-compounds or slicks without getting to the limit of what I could do on street tires. I'm only a DE3/DE4 driver, and I don't have my TT license yet, so my next event will be the first time I'm on R-compounds. Considering how I run down people now on street tires, I'm expecting it will be pretty quick.
