I believe that's how they roll for National stuff. I think some regions are using a .980 or .975 modifier to "simulate" removing the grip of race tires so that the PAX will compare with everyone else's, but as with all PAX stuff, it may or may not be scientific enough for all conditions

Heh figures, whats the point in making new classes with no pax adjustment lol. Well I guess for large regions it would allow someone not on R comps to get 1st but thats about it.

I hope it's ok that I'm posting this in the thread, but I thought I would give the STU guys first crack at this:

I have a set of AST 5100 single adjustable coilovers that are now off the car and will be posted for sale shortly once I get them cleaned up. They're available now though. Spring rates are definitely STU/ASP competitive.

PM if interested.

Out of curiosity, what are you changing to? I just got the 5200s & am planning to install them & get corner balanced next weekend.

A different platform with less weight, fewer driven wheels, and more RWDness. You'll love the ASTs though!

Nice. Enjoy the change. I don't have enough seat time thus far to know whether I miss RWD, but I know I am enjoying AWD.

What are you switching to? Im on the fence about doing an SSM miata. Super light RWD is sounding tempting after 10yrs autocrossing AWD dsm's/evo's

Yeah, I saw you registered in STR! Will miss having some more quality evo drivers to run against in the area... Good luck to you and Kenneth. At least Pallotta is back to remind me how slow I am.

I have an order in for a BRZ, and I'm currently codriving an STX RX-8.

Thanks Brian! I'm sure I'll catch up with you at a few events.

Another little for sale item for you STU folks:

I have a set of 17x9.5 +38mm RPF1s that I'd like to see go to a good home. I think this wheel setup is about as good as it gets for STU. They currently have 245/40/17 AD08s mounted. The tires have just enough (3/32) for some fast autocrossing. I'll throw in 20mm bolt on, hub centric Ichiba spacers and some aluminum lug nuts that have been on and off more times than I'd like to count.

PM me.

If I hadn't just bought some wheels as part of a parts package (the aforementioned coilovers included), I'd be all over that.

I'm happy seeing this thread getting some push-- there's not enough motorsport/ racing talk on this site.

Thought I'd share this... Last event with Mr. Pallotta putting smack down on the entire NWOR region, national champs included... even running 1st heat...

I thought I'd benchmark the slow guy to him...

lol ya, sort of. Last time I drove a non ABS car was 10 years ago and it didnt have enough braking power to cause lockup on Hoosiers

A big thanks goes to Ben Clement for letting me drive his car at the NT! His car handles good, I just struggled to get a grip (ha!) on the non-ABS thing lol I ended up letting alot of smoke out of the tires everywhere lol. I even had a long spin on one run with obvious Dunlop skid marks
