Definitely agree with that, but only in the early portion of the season. I fully expect Ferrari to develop/improve their car considerably quicker than the likes of Mercedes and Lotus, just like they have the last few years. Just a matter of throwing enough money at the problem like usual. It's the Ferrari way.

Who's in Charge here...Bernie or CVC?

Others have suggested that David Campbell was the heir apparent for Bernie:
http://www.pitpass.com/45680-Ecclest...sor-steps-down but he has now left CVC, owner of F1. What seems odd is within the above article, CVC states,"...Bernie wanted to take the business in a different way and wasn't the basis on which we hired David." I get confused here...if CVC owns F1 and Bernie has been designated by same to run the show, then why did CVC hire Campbell to change its direction?...in short, who the hell is in charge here?...why didn't execs at CVC just tell Bernie directly to change the show? Furthermore, because Campbell was unsuccesful, CVC and Campbell threw in the towel and let Bernie go off on his merry way!.... Perhaps some of U can shed some light on this rather bizaar arrangement between Bernie and CVC.

RB in trouble?

In the last week of testing we heard that Ferrari has given up on their new exhaust layout and gone back to a conventional design (see above earlier post). Now it appears that the new upgraded RB8, relative to that tested in Barcelona, is not performing any better...this has resulted in RB saying they R now considering to use the former over the latter at Melbourne: http://www.yallaf1.com/2012/03/06/re...for-melbourne/ ...what this says is RB will B relying on their first "prototype" to pull them to the front for it appears that Newey's dream boat, kept hidden until the last minute, is just not doing it. I think this, as for Ferrari, represents a setback for RB and may open up the door to McLaren, assuming they R, in fact, the next best car...with regard to the last statement, it is ironic how the talking heads, in one breath, predict the top four teams and then , in the next breath, say how difficult it is to predict who is fastest from testing and how unpredictable it is to C who is running well and who is not...can't have it both ways guys.

All based on whether or not we believe Newey I suppose. All this stuff is what makes F1 so great. Although I wish they hadn't removed the blown diffuser, that sound was like music to my ears. My girlfriend would say "are you crying". I would say no, but listen to that sound. Brings tears to my eyes. LOL needless to say she broke up with me.

This will be a little biased because I am a huge Vettel fan, but I have to think whatever problems Red Bull are having, if they are, Newey will fix. If it was any other team I might worry, but the guy is a God in his field. And with Vettel as driver, I still think the other teams will struggle. Maybe it will be closer this year, who knows, but if I was a betting man, I would still take the Newey/Vettel combo over any other team. I have no doubt Vettel will be 3x world champion but runner up I would love to see Button. I guess I tend to root for personality as well and both those guys really seem genuine and love what they do. Vettel actually got me into watching F1 full time in the last Race of 2010. I kept seeing this kid doing the #1 sign in an odd way and it intrigued me. Started watching stuff about him and I decided I have to keep up with this kid. 10 years from now we may look back on him as something really special and I want to be a part of that. And now, I am addicted. I watch rerun F1 races over and over and over. It never gets old.

Agreed, it was one of the best sounds, especially live. Banning it will even the field though, which is probably a good thing since RB was so dominant with it. You can tell the difference between the RB and the rest of the field in this vid.

Newey is definitely the best engineer in F1 right now, the RB will be a good car.

I supposed, but don't the other teams have the same opportunity to design the blown diffuser? More down force seems better for the sport. High speeds in the turns is exciting.

Is there a way to get my Evo to sound like that? LOL

You can get a similar sound with anti-lag (aka ALS or SAS) as shown here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/10010123-post11.html

Just be prepared to go through turbos like you do tires or brakes.

They do but RB were the pioneers of the system, they developed way better than any of the other teams, thats why in that vid I posted the RB sounds so much more constant than the other teams.

Haha I wish, I'd do it! but yeah as posted above anti-lag is the closest your going to get, and thats not really the same thing. I don't know if anyone actually knows how to do it other than the F1 engineers. Apparently the manufacturers went though a lot of engines in order to get the mapping right.

I don't like that sound as much. Maybe I will contact Red Bull and let them know I drink a lot of their product so maybe they can throw in one of Vettel's old motors after a race. Maybe figure a way to mount that in my Evo.

Mr. Red Bull, what are the chances you give me one of those engines?

About one in a million!!

So you are saying there's a chance!!

What gives with Alonso?

Many times, in an effort to bond within a group, individuals take various approaches to accomplish same. Lets take Alonso...he is spanish in origin but has joined an italian team...now we NO he NO's how to speak italian, and many other languages for that matter, but apparently this is not enough for him...take a look at him here in the banner article of Crash: http://www.crash.net/ ...what is up with the mustachio and beard?...perhaps he thinks Montezemelo will embrace him if he looks like Don Giovanni: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...9QEwAA&dur=373
