^^^I just bought & installed the same Schroth Profi II ASM FE

Since I run the track I ordered the NecksGen head & neck restraint to compliment the system

This is my opinion on air bag situation. My bags are still active BTW

Running a harness system keeps you relatively tight to the back rest which will likely defeat the air bags effectiveness

During a frontal, using OEM belts, you are pushed fwd somewhat into the air bag. With harnesses & depending on your seat position you may not reach the deployment zone of the bags rendering them ineffective

Thats why Im going to run the head & neck restraint

I dont see any serious negatives w/keeping the bags active

The annoying seat belt ding doesn't come on when you disconnect the little connector under the seat. No need to get a seat belt clip.

Yeah since I still have the stock seats a sub belt is not ideal. 4pt belts aren't so great but the Schroth unit seems to be OK.

And I sorta had the same thought in regards to air bags with harnesses so I think it'll be fine if I'm wearing harnesses with the air bags still active.

Does disconnecting that little connector disable the air bags at the same time or just get rid of the beep?

BUMP- Has anyone confirmed whether disconnecting the seat belt beep plug disables the airbag or not?

You should try it & see if it throws the light. I disconnected the female belt receiver & is tie wrapped under my seat w/the male blade inserted, so no SB light (totally hidden & out of the way)

Well I disconnected it the other day to try my harness and it didn't throw the SRS light on the dash so I'm thinking it doesn't disable it.

Since I still dd the car I left my stock seatbelts in place. I always wear my seatbelt but would like to kep the connected disconnected instead of unplugging it every time I race the car. Sure unclipping it is simple but I'd just prefer to leave it alone.

If it disables the airbags however, then I will need to come up with a better strategy.

I replaced my seats end of last year, and just clipped the wires connecting to the belt clip. No beeping nor dash light illuminated.

Will my airbags still work? I have no idea. That's what a Hans for the track is for, there's just the raised risk of driving occasionally on the street I suppose.

I had to ship it to my parents house so I don't have hands on access yet. My seat will be here Monday, hopefully install in 2-3 weeks as my last track day of the year is end of October.

got mine in yesterday. was pretty straightforward, except for the part where i had to hammer the floor pan flat on the passenger side. it looked like a shop put a lift arm under the floor pan instead of the jack point or something.

aside from that, im not ecstatic with my seating position as the rails are too high for my taste and i have to re learn the fell of the shifter position and pedals now. oh well, this seat is only temporary since i was rushing to get everything installed before the end of this season. still have to do the harness.

also, cant believe people run without the extra floor plates, the floor pan was scary thing.

That BC seat sits nice & deep for sure. Maybe a lower harness hoop can be welded to the underside of the harness bar to get a better angle?

Good deal on adding the lower plates

thats set as absolutely low as i can mount the seat and its still right about stock seat height, so its NOT low enough. my lowered factory seat was at least an inch lower. and yes, i probably have to bring the rear of the seat up a notch to get proper harness angle. i just didnt wanna spend the price of bride fg rails right now. i also need a bigger seat as this one fits my waist but is tight on my torso, which i figured, but this will do for 1 weekend.
