Evo viii fuel starvation

I have been autocrossing this car since new in 03, last tune was 4 years ago. Last upgrade was a new rear diff a few months ago.

Just recently, last month or so, i am experiencing starvation in 90 degree left handers. I usually keep the car at a 1/4 tank. I have searched the forumns, but most post are about the X.

I changed the fuel pump, replaced with another wally hp, and i am still having he same problem.

Has anyone else experienced this ith their 8 or 9?

Have your injectors flow tested/cleaned? But if it's only happening when racing at 1/4 tank, that wouldn't make sense.

Hmm.

What tires are you running? Also, do you have a wideband on the car you can log with? Evo 8s are hard to fuel starve. We run em pretty empty with Hoosiers and still don't have problems until its less then a 1/8 usually. Usually we start sessions at 1/2 tank though.

Wonder if it could be that secondary low volume pump in the right saddle tank?

Has anyone ever experienced a failure w/that part?

Just a .02 thought

Running hoosiers as well. I am stumped because i have never had this problem in 9 years. My next step is checking the filter on the passenger side, and if thats fine, then time to trouble shoot wiring.

what BOV/BPV do you use?

i had a very similar problem to this before, ended up being that my Tial QR bov was hanging up in tight right hand corners causing all sorts of issues.

highly doubt its anything in your tank (pump, filter, or actual fuel starvation)

Oh, you think it's a surge causing the problem? Makes sense.

I run a crushed 1G DSM BOV and I have no surging issues.
