zomg this is why you always have to buy $5000 name brand rims.

 

factory color is silver color. they were painted black.

 

I also checked into having wheels spray enamel painted, but the shop used an oven to bake it. Not as bad as powder coating curing, or hydrogen embrittlement from plating, but I still didn't want to risk it. In the early days of the Evo, most of the track guys went with the heavier Enkei NTO3s, due to the reinforced spoke design.

 

I use the 18x10 +38 RPF's for qualifying/practice, but for the races ya I also use the proven NT03's.

 

That way when you DO break a wheel. You have to spend 4 times the amount to replace one wheel!
