I have the car for that.... (ASP) but this one deserves to either stay in STU, or be put back to stock and sold to an RS collector.

...but a stock RS sucks, what's the point of that? an ASP RS is awesome!Originally Posted by Bassicfun

I drive my ASP car on the street. However I do not daily drive it. I have to be carefull on ramps and rough roads or I will destroy my splitter mount. I get some crossed eyed looks from the personnel at the emissions test station but it passes. This is the 2012 and 2013 National ASP Championship car.

Did I miss something about STU? Was there some rule change that made it even harder for us to make it there?Originally Posted by Dallas J

Fedja, ST took away E85 though you can still make similar power just have to pay $$$ for less easy to get "pump" race gas. Then they also threw the 350z in the class with larger tires. So far only one result in the same class and Brian is FAST per the Nats win 2013 and now San Diego domination.

Francis?? I see you were at San Diego, did you drive or tow? We drove there from Seattle last year and it was kind of rough going, too much extra weight in the car and one EXTREMELY expensive shock rebuild later... I'm not so sure how feasible it really is for us. (not that the drive was specific to our shock failures, but I don't think it helped)Originally Posted by flmjr

I tow to all of the events. I drive to local car shows, to break in replacement parts and to the tuner's shop. The car has just short of 12000 miles on it. It weighs in between 2975 and 3000 pounds depending on the fuel load and the scales. It still has air. that is really nice in Arizona and even in Lincoln to keep the driver comfortable.

you should be towing your STU car to all the big events also.Originally Posted by 4wd4me

if our evo didn't have stickers all over it, i'd have no problems driving it to a local event. We drove an (at the time) ASP C5 to all local events for a couple years. McCance drove his ESP champ car to and from nats and packwood.
SP cars really aren't as scary as it sounds. They just don't make good DD's unless you're sadistic.

I drive my moderately built SM car to all the local events, sometimes on the old set of BFG R1S. We only tow when leaving town for like Packwood. Its more a space thing with the Wife, dog, camping gear, etc., and also the piece of mind if something breaks.
