^^ Welcome and have fun, I won a national tour in my almost 3280lb 04 SSL (without driver)... so it can be done and enjoyed... and that car definitely didn't have the power the X has.

Thanks for the input. Honestly, I think I could benefit from having a more well-defined traction drop-off point. The Rivals provide grip past the point of peak grip, which lulls me in to overdriving the car too often.

I believe it's just the MR and MR SE that came with it. It was a part of the MR's "zero-lift kit"

If it's not an OEM option, then it'd actually bump you past ASP to SM I believe.

I thought I read in some mitsu accessory lit that the gurney flap fit EVO VIII - IX.

I like the X a lot and “to me” it feels like it could be “somehow competitive” (with a good driver) obviously not the car to have, but it is fun to drive…the only problem that I see is the STU AWD 245s limit because on this tank, is just wrong.

---Yes, I wrote letters to the SCCA already several times but they think that AWD is a supernatural force that can overcome anything, however in this case is just hurting badly newer cars (Since most are heavier) and forcing everyone to go back and purchased older lighter cars that are becoming impossible and more expensive to find.

You guys with older Evos can stay with the 245s; MY2008 and up should go to 265s

Yes there are many folks in the SEB it seems, as well as those who make up PAX who dispise AWD... simply my opinion, either way I don't see it changing, just have to rise up and overcome.

Maybe they should pass a rule for ST classes where the max allowed tire width depends on vehicle weight??

Yes, we can just remove the last digit; like 3,450 lbs = 345s

It is way too complicated to do something like that. Maybe model year, but it is never going to happen.

Looks like Dunlop has discontinued the ZII. ETA for the ZII Star Spec is November/December. According to the Tire Rack guys, the ZII Star Spec supposedly has 3% better traction than the outgoing ZII.

Also the new R-S3 compound is supposed to be hitting the dock in the USA some time in April.

I still think I'll grab a set of the outgoing ZII for this season, though.

^Did you hear this all from TR? While this doesn't pertain to the STU folks on here, I'm praying they come out with some better sizing for 17's...

Now's not a bad time to buy ZIIs anyways.

I think there's a $50 rebate through the end of the month.

Gotta get me a new set next week anyways, they should be worn down enough to try the ZII Star Specs when they launch

From: Why do they always call the Evo the Dark Side?
So, last year I bought a set of ZII's to start the year. Ended up putting 89 runs on them.

I will probably be doing something similar this year, just not sure what I am going to do. I am hoping to do the Wilmington Tour, but that's in August, and if these things start dropping off at ~150 runs that's not going to work out real well.

Might be time to try out the Rivals or the Yokos, dunno.
