I don't think there are many new tires this year. AD08Rs are legal for the first year in 2014 but unclear whether they are in the mix.

It might be the last year of 100 octane.

It's the first year of the "totally competitive in STR but bumped to STU for who knows why" 350z in STU, and the first year of the "has a 5.7L V8 but somehow a worse thrust curve than a laggy 2.0L turbo car" C5 Vette in STU.

It should be a light year for me, baby and all that. Hoping to make maybe DC and the Wilmington Tour but dunno.

Go, discuss!

Well I'm not running STU and I'm not sure how many events I'm going to hit this year but I'd like to say I'm all fired up for the new Solo season.

Since I'm in Texas I should at least go to these if I have my engine back together in time.

ProSolo
May 3-4: Mineral Wells Airport in Mineral Wells, TX

Championship tour
March 29-30: Texas A&M Annex near College Station, TX

I'm planning on attending the March 29-30 event in Bryan (A&M Riverside). Really hoping to meet a bit of the Dallas SCCA crew there.

So the only STU updates for 2014 are:
1) 100 octane gas “may” not be legal (not a final decision yet)

2) New cars for the class:

a. Nissan 350Z (2003 through 2008) Base model only.
b. Corvette C5 (1997 through 2004) base models only

Anything else?

its WAY too late to be changing the rules for 2014. the earliest they could ban 100oct is 2015.

I will be here as well ^^^
Planning to do all the WDCR events that I can. Along with one or two Nasa events at VMP.

Rick

I was at the SFR SCCA event there in August, huge pad and huge course! Tons of grip too, can't wait to go back

Awesome. Josh and I will be there...barring any future complications with the car.

I'm new to autox, and am thinking hard about demoding my fuel system and switching back to pump gas to run in STU for seat time. What's everyone running for their HFC. My car came with a Cobb HFC and I know one guy on my local car site had his throw a cell, so I don't know if the cobb is legal since my car was originally tuned on E85 and may have just had the cell turned off.

Sounds like a good time! One thing to note... Crows Landing is literally in the middle of nowhere (read: nothing to do and no real beer...so I'd advise against staying there the week between the Pro and Tour, but there are places about an hour away that are closer to civilization) and it's probably going to be in the upper 90s.
