1/2 qt less is still more than OEM. my DP is so close to the oil pan now. between the heat and my being afraid of it hitting.. i'd get the 4" option anyway.

can we get these pans with all the OEM stuff? i just need the regular drain and the area for the OEM oil return line to bolt on.

For the drain it differs between the 8's and 9's. So if he builds you an 8 pan and you have a 9 then it won't fit and you'll need to go AN. If you send him your 9 pan then yes of course your 9 drain remains functional. But him sourcing a 9 pan there is a bit of a challenge.

Cool. Sending one in wouldn't be an issue for me.

They're located in New Zealand. Not sure you want to pay shipping to get your pan there vs. them sourcing a pan locally.

if they couldn't source one (as suggested in the post above mine), i wouldn't have much choice. either way would work for me. the pan is already $$$ so, what's a bit of extra shipping?

I got mine a few days ago! My friend sent me some pictures of it and it looks very very nice. I haven't seen it yet in person.

Rob was a very nice guy to work with, even though they are in New Zealand, the transaction went really smooth, once the pan was built it only took 3 days to arrive.

I took Balrok's initiative to do some custom things to his like the -10an fitting and do it to mine also plus another bung for the Oil Temp and another bung located on the highest point of the pan for a return line from one of the catch cans.

More updates later on... I will be installing and testing this bad boy in less than 2 weeks Here: http://www.farausa.com/ Oct 3/4

Unfort my head went bad, well it's been bad, blowing oil past the seals due to way worn guides. Last few events she's been called the mosquito fogger for good reason. So that's off to CBRE for a rebuild which ate my Sept budget and the holidays are approaching quickly. I may be able to do an event between now and Dec but that's if I get my CFO to approve cause i'm buying a new house (with a 5 car). I honestly don't think there's any reason why this would have any negative effect that would prevent ya'll from moving forward.

I would not expect a negative, but want to know if it is positive enough impact to justify $... or should I keep saving for a dry sump.

The only 2 things I don't like about dry sumps is the added weight and the price lol!

If it was an unlimited budget build i'd add it and find the weight elsewhere. But we'z on a shoestring budget....Because turbo lol.

i'm also on the cost vs benefit fence. i'm all for doing things to improve the efficiency of how my car runs, but not at any price. so i'll wait to see what others say as well.

Balrok: i've never heard of guides going bad, even after 100k miles. what happened??

It's not that much weight. The problem is that its all on the front of the car. If you mount the reservoir in the passenger seat, and the oil cooler in the trunk, it would help a lot.

I'm pretty sure you get at least 20lbs in total. At this point, I have spent thousands of dollars to shed lbs and just to get weight out of the car, so weight for me is super important.
