Ahhh, I noticed that rivet on my pads too, grinded it down last year

ah gotcha. yea not all brake pads have those, which is kind of odd. not sure what they're for, but i got mine shaped to clear them and no more soft pedal issues, but haven't tested temps.

The rivet is for the low pad indicator tab.
