I ran a 1:37 on them with about 330whp and having never driven there...probably isn’t anything to brag about...but just a reference i guesd

+1 They are a great Time Attack tire, not HPDE or W2W. They feel amazing and are super responsive. Grip is very impressive. My car is 3100lbs and had about 400-450whp at the time. I was running a 255 and got a solid two laps before they fell off. That's plenty for TA... IF you can get in a couple laps without traffic forcing you to do extras.
FWIW: when it comes to HPDE I'm pretty much sold on my Hankook R-S4. Not as grippy as my NT01, but they are SO cheap. I've only ran them in November and December at MRLS & BWRP and didn't notice a loss of traction during any of my sessions. My lap times kept getting quicker. We'll see how they like summer temps, though. I am running a narrow tire and OEM alignment, so I think they will be quite unhappy with me.

I was under the impression that the Hankooks overheat in longer track sessions, but were good for autox and maybe time trials. I'm looking to replace my Dunlop Star Specs in the spring. They have worn like iron on my car compared to past tires and do not fall off at all. I was thinking of getting the RE71Rs but after reading this thread I'm worried that they get greasy on track for longer sessions.

They are known for the opposite, actually. Maybe not the grippiest tire, but very durable and you can beat on them. My second favorite tire that I've ever run.
Your Star Specs used to be a great tire, but pretty much any other modern tire that you pick will be an upgrade. I think Star Specs stopped being the go-to tire about... three years ago or so? Give or take. You will be very happy with any of the top, popular tires!

Necrobump. The new Eagle F1 3R tire looks really promising. It's the stock tire on the Camaro ZL1 1LE and that car has been setting some impressive lap times. Not crazy expensive and they make it in 275/35/18 (take notes Pirelli)

Been looking at that. I'm starting to think though that it won't fit the 282mm Nasa tool though with 10.9 on a 9.5. Need someone to order these

Lol yea the 1 18" option is far from desirable but at least it's a common size and all of Pirelli's sticky stuff only comes 19-21" lol

What's the penalty for going over? 0.3? I don't remember what the treadwear limit is for NASA stuff but if it's not 100 then I'd probably look at some of the 80 or 60 TW options.

They might be, or might not be. My old man had a set of the older G2 F1s that's came stock on his 15 SS 1LE and he wore through those in less than 10k miles of street driving. Granted he drives like an asshat but that was a 220 tw tire...
