yea i wudn be so secure haha. ive always changed big end bearings even when my engine was low power. its the weak point of the 4g motor esp if ur wet sump and its cheap insurance to just swap em annually
My last short block went 130k miles. I drive about 3k per year. I should be good for the life of the car.
If I had to start swapping bearings every year (at my per level) I'd ditch the hunk of junk and go with another platform.

But, I can't think of why it would be a problem, even on a stock ROM. Unless the valve has a sensor and looks for flow during startup/EGR use....?

hahaha
