It was just the 1 rock that caused an issue and I had to put em in lockdown

You asked about that before and I remember thinking about it because it's a good point when any of us has an issue. DSS is where we normally source these kinds of things but they still only have the drag queen setup which has a whole different hub that you get stuck with, not ideal. I had to pony up for the DSS fronts this round because finding OEM new ones became a mission, their a bit heavier but seem a bit better built.

Kinda lame that DSS doesn't make a Stage "0" rear axle set like they do for the front.

While it's not really a winter project I ordered a Ciro Design wing the other day so my new project will be getting off my lazy bum and making a front splitter. If anyone's got any new mounting solutions or theories to test I'm all ears. My bumper is already quick connect and I would like the splitter to be fast as well because there's no way I'm even getting my car in the driveway once a splitter goes on. I have some old mounts I made up but since then I've deleted the oil cooler so I have more room for options.

Austin is working on a kit for the Evo with a CNC cut alumalite splitter. @ayoustin

That would be super nice, if priced well enough for re-buys (after seeing how long alumalite seems to last). A local shop seems to go through them once or twice per season. That could get pricey.

I'm in the same boat. I have the wood cut (forget about ordering alumalite in my area) but have yet to sit down and figure out the mounting options. I'll, be doing cables in the front, but I'm looking under the car to figure out my options. There are a few posts on this forum from others that have done it (with pics), but I always loose them somewhere in the shuffle of subscribed threads and favorites folders.
I do like a set of mounts I've seen where tabs bolted to the splitter slide into slots hanging from the car (or vise versa). After, you just bolt the front with some sort of quick release
When I have time to do this, I will post a complete list of the exact parts used as well as a how-to. That info has been lacking for the longest time.

I've had the shape cut out of cardboard for like 4 years. I know EGbeater made a good thread on the DIY splitter but I want a fast connection. When I first started I was going to try to have the back slide into a connection and bolt up front like you mentioned. Has anyone ever tried hard mounting it to the bumper so the whole thing becomes more of a front clip? Whatever I do I'll document in my build thread and if it's a fast solution I'll post it up here as well.

Yes I have a splitter in the works. Currently in the middle of doing the initial test build for V8.MR. His should be done in two/three weeks and after that I'll be taking orders. Instead of typing up a long post about it I'm just going to post a link to a document I wrote about the whole process and what I'm planning to offer: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing

The options form that the doc refers to looks like this:

As far as making it one piece with the bumper V8.MR has pitched that to me before but it ends up making more work for yourself. You absolutely must attach the splitter to the chassis so you still need hard mount connections and if you're making it one piece, anytime you have to take the splitter off, now the bumper as to come off as well. If your bumper is already on quick releases then removing it isn't a big deal anyway if you need to get to something behind it and the splitter would have to come off regardless.

I've managed to get a pretty good hookup on alumalite locally so I'm able to help cut some cost there for customers. If you're going through splitters once or twice a season you're probably better off getting more seat time without a splitter and throw it on after you know you won't be wiping it out regularly. Also, if someone does buy my splitter I'm willing to send them replacement parts for essentially cost + shipping.

I'm in! Skid blocks and diffusers I can get and install (unless you're getting a price break on them, of course), but having someone have all the measurements for the splitter itself = priceless.
I'm down for the splitter being separate, since I occasionally drive the car around town and kinda need a bumper cover.
Also, the guys I know do not use the ti blocks and run them pretty low, so not surprised they kill them off pretty quick LOL.
But yeah... A 10mm sheet, ordered by a local sign place = $350.
I've followed every link passed on to me with no luck. Alumalite is unobtanium for me, so I'll have to rely on y'all.
That's okay, though. I don't mind supporting a homie.

Awesome! And yikes at that price. I definitely got lucky, I managed to make a friend who works at a material and printing company and he sells alumalite to all the track guys around the area for less than half that.

Once I'm done with Marc's splitter I'll make a thread to show how it all fits up and features etc. I'll also contact anyone interested about it then, so not taking orders yet, but I figured the more time you have to read up on the options etc. the more time you'll have to think about what you want.

Already have my options figured out, so please let us know when it's a "go". That means I can play with my plywood version without worries of messing it up

Heres a couple photos of my splitter. think im one of the people you mentioned whos already posted them before but got lost further up so heres a refresher

Bascially 4 tie rods with adjustable length ball joints on the end. the 2 middle ones infront of the intercooler are just cable tied out the way and normally they attach to the middle of the splitter behind the bumper. They are held in with 4 quick release pins similar to these: http://www.wdsltd.co.uk/product/5245...-pins-wds-954/

The 2 angled strips infront of the tires are held with a screw to the bumper itself for rigidity. we found the splitter was making downforce and sucking back into the tires. the bumper is on quick latches and gets screwed to the splitter along the front and side. takes about 5min to remove bumpe rn splitter completely

I like the idea of grabbing air for the brakes from the diffusers. That solves the mess of snaking around the oil cooler/ACD pump.

I know I can make my own.. but if someone would do a how-to or at least post a recommended parts list, I'd gladly pay. I have to order most, if not all my hardware, as I don't have any decent stuff locally. Ordering, getting the wrong thing, then re-ordering is expensive and extremely time consuming.
FWIW if I buy one from ayoustin, I'd swear myself to secrecy and not give out the build info. ... and probably still finish mine, for funsies

I'm hoping to not need brake ducts with the built X calipers and 2pc rotor. But this is a nice solution and you can still close off the front with shutters.

Depends how long your on track for and how much power etc etc. my stock brembos would cook after 3 laps.

Yea works real good cause its not often we actually remove the splitter itself normally just take the bumper off to service which means we can keep the ducts hooked up. it also means u dnt have to try snake em through
