So, after breaking that strut bar bracket and bracket bolts, I was looking for a replacement and found a few, all around $100 or so. Ended up ordering one from https://www.partsgeek.com/ and when that thing arrived, I realized it was a brand new aftermarket one - not used OEM. Here are some pictures of the product: Sticker from the box New passenger side arm old OEM driver side arm
I am a bit puzzled here since I was expecting an used OEM one. Does anyone has any experience with this brand or this seller? Should I trust this knockoff?
Surprised you found that Moog control arm. There's not many of them left in the aftermarket. A cast arm is a cast arm. How the bushings and ball joint hold up compared to OE? who knows? Beats $300+ for an OEM arm. edit: nvm see ur on X platform. run it

man you got an X. parts are still available. shoulda just got a used one from ebay
and you really need to loosen bolts getting lots of heat and brake dust

That is what I wrote above - I was expecting that to be an used OEM one, but I was too quick and didn't pay enough attention to details. That is how I ended up with this replacement brand new part.
They do have 30 day return policy, so I could send it back. But, if this unit is good enough, I would keep it. That is why I was asking about it here if anyone had any experience with those parts...
Either way, I could keep it there and why my original arm is out I could try to re-drill it and have it ready for the next use
I've been selling Moog for awhile. Moog is an OE supplier and was considered one of the most solid aftermarket brands. Over the years quality lacking due to increased outsourcing to other countries. Since then Federal Mogul was moved to a private company and sold to Tenneco. 10 years ago they were manufactured in 16 countries, Tenneco manufactures in 26 countries., fwiw. I'm sure it'll be fine, buy the Whiteline kit while ur at it

I'm swapping out the heavy OEM fan for a SPAL slim fan and just wondering what others did for wiring. Obviously tried searching but it left me less than enthused with the results.
2 options I'm considering,
1) Snip the 2-wire plug on OEM fan and run to SPAL, mount the control module somewhere near but not directly in the flow of the fan (space). I'm only concerned since this is mounted in direct fan flow from the factory, does it get appreciably hot?
2) Buy a solid-state relay to PWM the fan. Heat is still a thing but a single fan probably isnt going to pull too much power relative to their capacity.
Im leaning towards option 1 since only a single fan but would hate to have it fail on me cause it overheated.
I mounted my OEM fan controller on the frame rail when I put my CSF rad in with a Spal fan. Never had any issues with the fan but never checked to see if the controller was running hot. With how large the heat sink is on it I'd be hard pressed to believe it needs a huge amount of airflow to keep temp in check.
I wanted to manually operate my fan via switch. Removed the controller, connected the original fan wires to the spal fan harness then piggy backed two wires from the fan relay in the fuse box to the switch inside the car.
I suppose it’s the same as your option 1 except I removed the control module
