It's time to re do my motor mounts as the cusco ones have been in for a few years now.

Looking for the hardest motor mount set on the market for the least engine movement i can get. Looking at torque solutions at the moment. any other brands to look at? (apart from cusco)

Brad, don't know if Cusco are really hard, but when I had hard motor mount without balance shafts, it was an awful experience.

The roll-stopper is key in Evo to keep engine from moving, the side-motor/trans mounts indeed hold it but engine is not trying to move on them: it tries to rotate, thus roll-stoppers.

I like stock or maybe slightly stiffer main motor/trans mounts; perhaps Ralliart? That may be Cusco equivalent if Cusco is rubber.

Vibration that comes from solid motor mounts loosens bolts, and is really unpleasant. I cannot think of benefit to make up for it.

Cheers,

I have a roll stopper installed already. Main thing is it affects my shifting actuator for the paddleshift if i have too much engine movement

TBH, I keep OEM side motor mounts because without balance shafts people are experiencing a lot of bolts backing out over time in critical areas. And I just havent seen the need to stiffen the side mounts.

Any specific bolts? I have all 4 torque solutions mounts and never have had any bolts vibrate loose.

Ive been lucky not to have anything major happen but I have had my water pump bolts back out. And I don't use loctite on those specifically cause its a PITA to get off as it is. But others have had crank pulley bolts loosen if seen as well. Aaron shoe lost a motor a few years ago when the center bolt loosened on him IIRC. Have also seen people claiming torqued and loctite flywheel bolts come loose which would really be crappy to fix.

I also have not experienced bolt loosening due to BS deletes and poly side mounts.

Bah, after axle boot leak last event I got that fixed and fired up the car today only to get the charge/brake light staying on. Wonder if the grease from axle worked its way into the alt maybe? Either way, gotta get something in a day or two. I might just pick up whatever local alt is available and rebuild mine or get an outlander to swap in if the part store one sucks.

Never a dull moment!

I have a 'tire sprayer' filled with concentrated degreaser for crap like that. check plugs tho, in case they got disconnected
