I purposely run larger spacers on the front of my Evo 10 for this very reason. I was actually surprised how much I could notice the difference on track.

This Hypergram ET40 sounds like worth the try. Should I get ET15 for the fronts? I dont need to rotate my tires (my front brake pad dust eats paint)

10,5ET18 is my ET30 & 12mm spacer, ET15 is with 15mm spacer. I tried both but kept the12mm since it does not touch the frame at max camber setting
Thanks

I run the 18x11 +15 TC105X wheels with the 295 A052 up front. No spacer, completely stock front fenders. However, fitting these will be dependent upon what spring/coilover combo you're running up front.

with KW V3(on its way out) i have about 12mm gap wheel to shock body. I have a feeling FA510s will be bigger. We'll see in a few weeks

I took my autox setup (minus e85 and RSB on full soft) to the track. This protrusion of rear wheels didnt give me any problems even when going over those raised curbs. I won the 10lbs-to-1 class, setting my best time after boiling my brake fluid and brake-checking every chance i get. Looking forward to going back, in the 8-to-1 class next time

no contact with with the frame (shoe polish on the rub area). also note that I moved the rivets of the fender liners to make room. also the previous wheel setup already made some room by the frame side

Have any side view or close up shots of your rear wheel/tire setup?

Thanks!

There are primary, secondary, and tertiary effects in handling. Scrub radius is in that tertiary zone where I dont think much about it other than I wont trade scrub radius for increased steering angle inclination which I would put as secondary.

I'm running 18x9.5 +25 Hypergrams on a slightly lowered X with Ohlins and. with 275/35 R888R tires I barley rub on the front fender well (no rub with RE71s). I might try spacers in the rear in the future but I'm limited by the short length of my ARP studs. I might get longer ones next time I change them out. I have two set of the Hypergrams and also a set of 8.5" Enkei Raijin with an offset similar to stock.
Just curious what are the performance advantage to using stretched tires on a track car? I've always gone just the opposite, getting the widest tread while maintaining a firm sidewall. That would be 275/35 on 9.5" wheels and 255/35 on 8.5" wheels.

On grippy pavement, one of the less desirable ways to loosen the grip to counter understeer/oversteer is pinching the tires. I have the tendency to back off when i feel the tires are deflecting like its underinflated so I rather not get that kind of feedback, especially at higher cornering speeds.
For autox, my best set ups were 245 on 9.5 and 285 on 10.5, both on max recommended wheel width ... i say "best" since those were the years I feel I didnt overdrive my tire set up and didnt have second thoughts about them

285/30 on an 11" is over the recommended. I'm just hoping to have the wheels that can take wider tires should they become available and also to see how much more the wheel well can take. the STU class can run 285s now so hopefully we can figure out how to get wider tires in there

STU can actually run up to a 295 on the Evo/AWD platforms - just to clarify. It's no problem fitting that up front as referenced in my earlier post. Out back is a different story.

However, there are a handful of STU evos that have also done the 285/10" square setup all the way around. If you haven't already looked at the 2021 STU thread in this forum, it goes into further detail!

You're right!. My bad, i was thinking the 27.4" 295/40 isn't something STU evo guys would consider I may have to start considering A052s

What coil-overs are you running?

I'm on the JRZ Motorsport triples. However if you run like a 6" spring on on coilovers that have separate preload/height adjustments, you should clear there too!
