The DTC70s are a very popular and proven pad used in many types of racing so you should be happy with them.

As for my car, it does not have any ducting and the DBA rotors are 1 piece, vented, blanks. I haven't really had the need for ducting yet due to the increased size of the rotors (compared to stock) that I am using. Perhaps if I get a bit faster that will be necessary, but as of now I haven't had a problem without it.

What about your car? What tires/suspension/engine setup are you using? Also, are you running the DTC70s in both the front and rear?

Hawk pads (in my experience) have an extremely SHORT Shelf (read: heat cycle) life. don't buy them and expect them to work great over the course of a years worth of events. (like many of our ntec members would expect). also for me they are just terrible pads, too touchy (intial bite) they fade way too quickly / hard to modulate.

I am interested in trying the Carbontech pads, however when i HAVE to stop PF01 compound jsut always works, 30 seconds, 30 minutes in, easy as pie to stop the car. (3050lbs - driver, 455whp)

This year I have been running NT01s/Hawk HT10s on the track with stock suspension. Rotors are one piece DBAs that have major heat stress cracks on them, they lasted less than the year. I am stepping up the the DTC70s f/r with Perf. Friction 2-piece rotors up front. I run Motul 660RBF with Ti shims, and have ordered the Binary brake ducts so that I can fab up some ducting for both mine and Kevin's car.
Next year I plan to put on coilovers, wider RPF1s, and Hoosiers once the NT01s are shot. This year, I was about 6 seconds slower than the leaders in NASA TTA, so the upgrades should get me much closer, but I will need the colis and slicks to really be competitive.

I don't have any personal experience running the PFC01 pads, but I have only heard good things about them. They seem to be especially popular in BMW racing (we have a few customers who run those on their race cars). The Performance Friction pads (like the Carbotechs) are often a bit more expensive than some of the others on the market, but they are definitely worth it.

TxEvo8 - I think you should be really happy with the DTC70 pads after using the HT10s. The DTC line of pads is meant to replace the HT series so it should be an improvement. I'd be interested to hear what you think of them.

Let me know if you need to come in earlier this week, and we can try to work something out. Otherwise, drive those poor old Advans easy!

Dang man, your Advan's are going out already? You even had a couple of good alignments, how many miles you have on them?

10,300

Rotated at least once every 3k miles, aligned to factory spec @ 600 miles, aligned to custom spec (zero toe) by Cobb @ ~2k miles. 3 of the 4 still have 1-2k miles life remaining, but the 4th is pretty chewed up and has a few small bulges forming.

PTP is definitely the place for tires, what Hankooks are you going with? My NT-05s are about done, so I will be replacing them soon, and am looking for alternatives.

Being probably one of the most particular people around, take it from me, PTP does the BEST quality work and they have some of the best pricing in the metroplex!

Ventus V12's, 280 treadwear rating, hoping for at least 20k miles out of them. It was between them or the Sumitomo HTR Z III's but the Hankooks had a mail-in-rebate and I've already tried the Sumis on my IX.

Chris, did you not consider the Dunlop Star specs, since they came up tops?

Too noisy, heavy, and low treadwear rating for my liking.
