pulled over tonight.. :(
well, i was on the jersey turnpike south and i was in the cars only lane and the state trooper paced me on the trucks/cars lane and flashed his light and then pulled me over. he put it down as 95 in a 55, although i'm not sure how fast i was going, i'll just take his word for it. how much of a fine and how many points am i looking at? is there anything i can do to lower the points? any jersey people out there with any info?
i know why i'm lucky, i know i should have gotten wreckless and whatever else. i need advice and solutions. and i already know the best help is a lawyer, but i was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions.
Actually if you go to court about this they will most likely drop the points. Thanks to "pole smoking" Jim Mcgreevy there is a new law where each point they drop is a $250 surcharge. Expect to pay at least $1000 cause thats a 4 point ticket. Sorry to hear about the ticket man
. Good luck

Its going to be more than $300.00. I was caught doing 84 in my friends Ecilpse and the fine was $250.00 and 3 points. Yours should at least be 4 points and $350.00 fine. Plead guilty and when you go to court talk to the prosecutor, he will make you some kind of deal to lower the points and raise the fine. When I did he lowered the points to 2 and raised the fine to $280.00. It also matters how your driving record is. My record was clean. If you have a lot of points then you better look for a lawyer. Most will charge you $500.00 and no points.

Its a 5 point ticket. Good luck on that. Surcharges are probably sure to follow. Better hope the prosecutor is generous to you.
