It's actually a great idea. 1.) Big incentive for employees. Save money on gas, wear on vehicles, and parking (if applicable). 2.) Big incentive for employers. No longer need larger office space to house all workers. Less costs.

I guarantee that if you offer that, you will find people in a heartbeat. I worked with a guy that has good HTML, CSS, CMS skills. He also had some design experience. If you needed someone like that that might be willing to learn .NET. Let me know. I could have him get in touch with you. I know he's traveling pretty far with his current job and working at home might be a big incentive.

i'm pushing for the work from hard in a big way. i used to be self employed for quite a few years working from home and would love to go back to that. daily driving an evo it would save me quite a bit on gas alone.

i'll see if marketing is looking for anyone more html/cms oriented.

btw - if u know a machine shop get those (2) studs removed from the turbine inlet on the hotside and go to the (4) bolt setup....makes it much easier to re-install and uninstall down the road.
What, are you saying that those studs don't come out easily or something? Like you will spend 4 hours drilling hardened steel trying to extract them?

that was 6 hrs drilling (3 hrs. each stud).....with bit rotation / sharpening every 5 min.

In loving memory of my 6spd: 2006-2010 RIP

Congrats on the house, Trav. Renting is for suckers.

Well, it happened . My tranny took the dump I had been praying wouldnt happen until spring. Got it flat-bedded last night. Just got off the phone with Shep Trans and am looking at $3415 just for the transmission. A twin disc is gonna be another 1500 or a single disc about 500. The single disc is only rated to 402lb/ft which concerns me based on where I want to be in a couple of years regarding whp output. I don't have the funds, nor the credit line, to buy anything, so looks like i'm taking a loan from my Mom - thank god for Moms.

I told her I guessed it would be about 4 grand last night - she almost had a heart attack. Explaining it is going to be close to 5 grand or more should be really fun.

Just cancelled my trip to Cabo San Lucas .

So, need your guys thoughts on clutch solutions. Any ideas on the most economical way to reliably hold 450lb/ft with daily driveability? Any single-disc setups that you would recommend? Clutch solutions are pretty much the only area that I could save a buck, so i'm really trying to explore any and all possible options here.

Stupid vortex generators...knew I should have bought the GSR.

Sounds like money is going to be tight after doing the transmission upgrade. I'd get the single disc clutch and save some money. After this, you probably won't be looking to get to 450 torque for a while.

No, your right. Not going to be upgrading for awhile, but I don't want to limit myself when I do have the cash to upgrade and I don't want to have to pull the tranny again for a LONG time. I just talked to Tom @ Spun Autosports and he gave me a decent price on a Spec stage 2+ single disc clutch. Any opinions on this clutch? Anyone run it? Its about half the price of an Exedy Twin HD, but holds about the same amount of torque. Let me know what you guys think.

If money is so tight why not just get a 6-speed rebuild from TRE? I mean yeah it wont be a 5-speed shep trans but least you can get the current one rebuilt and save a couple thousand and im sure it will hold up very well for years to come.

http://www.teamrip.com/TRE_6SPEED_EV...20SERVICE.html

Least talk to them - if the 6 speed rebuild will cost as much or more than a new trans then yea, no brainer....but when you have to borrow that much money a cheap solution should be sought after - my .02 cents

I would read the forums - seems the spec clutches are hit & miss, there are a few threads floating around about them...

Thanks for the advice Trav. I looked at TRE's site, but it looks like the turnaround time for a rebuild is 2 weeks. Mike is currently on a cruise and won't be back until monday to pull the tranny, so i'm looking at 3 weeks of downtime on my DD...not gonna happen. Shep can have a new tranny to me in 7-10 days, which should work out perfectly as long as I order by tomorrow. Not the cheapest solution, but pretty much my only viable option.

I've been trying to get reviews on Spec clutches, but it really seems like a crapshoot. Everyone has either a very positive or very negative review of either ACT or SPEC or every other clutch out there.

ACT HDSS (what I have now) seems to still be the cheapest and most reliable option. My clutch randomly slipped once though going up a hill at WOT and i've only got 315lb/ft torque right now. My clutch is supposed to be rated to 500+lb/ft, so I don't know what to think. I'm happy for the most part with the clutch, but it seems like the differences between the ACT single and the SPEC is that the SPEC is a Kevlar coated disc vs. the ACT's organic. I don't know how much of a difference that makes, but I like the idea of a stronger disc material. The pedal effort is supposed to be the same.

Tom at SpunAutosports said he's run the SPEC stage 2+ in his car now for over three years and has had no issues on his WRX that is making 400lb/ft. Still undecided... . What clutch are you guys running!?

If you are sticking with a single disc Spec, I have heard random stories, some good, some bad. There is a thread floating around ( https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/se...ec-clutch.html ) about their new twin model, and it doesn't look pretty to say the least. They are eating input shaft gears like a ****.

I would just do the 6 speed rebuild and get the Exedy Twin HD that way you know the clutch will last a long time, and the 6 speed will be fine provided you aren't launching it consistently. When you finally get the money together, you can send your tranny into shep and he can do his magic. At least now your bill will be under 3 grand for sure. Talk to TRE and see if there is any way they could expedite the service and see what they say. Wouldn't hurt to save a few dollars and still have a kick *** DD.

How many miles are on your car? Launches? Auto-X event? I am almost to 55k on my car and the 6 speed is still holding like a champ. Granted the input shaft is starting to whine, but I was told as long as you don't really beat on it when it is in that state it could last a long while.

Just throwing out ideas though...
