hey guys...i was thinking about getting the ams catback(tight on cash for whole tbe)..i just want to know if the catback will bolt up to the stock cat....please refrain from the cost of ams parts or i how i could find cheaper things....just want to know if it bolts up...thanks

We did this with my Megan at first before...it should bolt up fine. Wait for a few replies from other people though...

looks like there's a lot of silver at that meet so far...I'm going to try and make it, but I might get stuck with a final around then.

I'll definitely be able to make it but my car might be in for a rebuild then...it'll be close! It might be a good thing if mine isn't there though cause I'll be able to shoot video and pics out of Garcia's window or something if we go for a ride...nah...nevermind, she's gotta be there...

 

I started off with a Buschur catback and then build from there and installed the parts as I got them.

Yeah AMS is 3-bolt - forgot about that, they had to be different........unless you go buschur or another 2 bolt style flange your stuck.

 

Actually i think the AMS is a 3 bolt design. At least the DP is. So no it won't bolt up unless you do some modifications.

I think the 3 bolt is way better. Its a ***** to get the two bolt to not flex and make a gap.

Actually slip fit is the way to go. Good thing i have a magnaflow Ti. FTW. I actually want to make the rest of my exhaust slip fit also. Someday!

 

Ill more than likely be able to go...it depends if i work but i doubt ill have to that night

 

thanks guys...i was jsut curious because on ams website..you can just buy the catback..so it seeemed like you could just bolt it on no problem...guess not then..

I should be able to make the 4-11 meet. I will have to get off work but it is far enough in advance it shouldn't be a problem. Count me in, if it changes I'll post.

My Car: 2005 Yellow Evo

I just got my exhaust manifold back after being coated at Jet Hot. I then painted a few other things under the hood to match. Let me know what you guys think. (The header gets to about the exact same color as the paint when not totally cold.)
