Jim , sorry to hear your luck.

I had got pulled bye a state boy who was cruising a few cars back , I even did a full out 3rd gear pull past PeteyPab with the wastegate dumping. He pulled me and didnt even bother asking about exhaust or mods or anything. I was able to feed him some bull and he actually let me go. Rediculous

His claim is that you can't modify your OEM exhaust to make it louder than the OEM. I found some information close to that in PA Title 75 (section d), but you have to be compliant with the sound limits in section (a). Of course it doesn't seem to mention what section (a) limits are.

I am going to fight this for sure. Just gotta to it the "right way" and fight "legal" with "legal" and not go off the wall being pissed.

Hope everyone enjoyed racing today....I know my son enjoyed North Park today....
That's what I read too. You cannot modify your exhaust to make it louder than stock. The way I interpret that is, you cannot make your exhaust louder just for the sake of making it louder. You can for other reasons though. Your defense can be something like this... "I did not modify my exhaust to make it louder. My stock exhaust got a hole in it so I had to replace it. Factory replacement parts were 10X the cost of aftermarket, so I switched to a performance DOT legal exhaust system. It's slightly louder, but still compliant."

And another thing is the fact that he didn't have a db meter. That's kind of like giving someone a speeding ticket and saying, "I caught you speeding, but my radar/laser wasn't with me. I just think you were speeding." Kind of lame.

Noise levels

Jim I have all the sheets on pa law for sound levels... If he didnt meter the car and give you a print out you should be in the clear....I will talk to the mccandlees police that I know about it also....Just put the cat back in and take it to the police station......If he would of looked under the car and seen that there was no cat he could of handed you a huge fine for tampering with an emission device.. So really he let you off easy...

Well Mike, I held of all the vettes today and took Fastest time. 39.8. Next fastest was a 40.5 soooo. I pretty much cleaned up. Now the other Evo drivers out there all did dam good today. Some great battles. Justin, Dave, Frank and Kristi, and Colin all ran some great times.

Oh and dam my car feels good. This is really a serious beast i have assembled. It will even be faster with a front sway. And the Diff felt like it has been in there from the start. And lets just say i didn't really baby the car.

Can tell you are not familiar with Florida.... Speeding ticket can be issued because to the cop, you "appeared" tp be speeding.

I was actually at the Sarasota Courthouse a few years ago to file a lein on someone and the guy in front of me was paying a ticket for that exact reason...

Now.... It could have been because he was from Ohio and they were pretty sure he wasn't going to come back and fight a $69.50 ticket.. I thought it was totally absurd but when it was my turn, I asked the guy behind the counter and he said it was true in Florida.

like greased motherf*cking lightening. that was some damn impressive evo flogging today jer.

in other news, i don't think i will be teaching anyone else to drive. dave is far too fast now for my liking.

within less than 2 seconds or so of me all day.

i think i am going to take some time off from instructing and instruct myself!

at least i am building a good portfolio of fast students.

in all seriousness though the evos came out with some great driving today, and colin was kicking some *** in the bimmer too!

now i want to dump more money in to the car though so you, frank, myself, and dave can do a 1, 2, 3, 4 finish in the Street Mod Class. i bet that would shake up some subies.
