Forgot to mention about the track yesterday...it was sweet seeing the TPG Tuning ( http://www.TPGtuning.com ) 2G run a 10.18 yesterday with the parachute and all. There is pictures of it on their website and type in "TPG 2G" on youtube for videos of it. (It's the same car that ran against the AMS Evo in the 8.56 world record)

Denny I can definitely see you doing that

Hey, i am trying to get some more information on this... Whats the rules for being emissions exempt. Under 5000 miles and an honor system, events only, not daily driven, and a show style car. But... ... ...

When you are emissions exempt, can you also be exempt from exhaust laws?

I plan to run open downpipe for a while till i break in the new motor, and im sure that 3.5" down pipe will sound like a mac truck

Thanks in advance.

Was going to call penndot today, but i started digging in the PA legal system online, but as we all know they just use big words to confuse people like me

The only reason i ask is becuase i go to the shows and i see the rat packs there all the time in their 1932 ford chop top coupes with open headers and blowers on the car. are they only legal because they are consindered antiques or classics ? ? if not, they are way louder than what i will be

I can answer the last part.... It is consistent with the laws of that time period and/or accepted modification to the "Period" of the vehicle.

Just like "Blue Dot" Tail lights.. Illegal on a newer vehicle but exempt from the law say on a '32 Ford for example..

I got pulled over in one of my trucks a few years back for loud exhaust... (Headers and Burned out Turbo muffs)... The cop started giving me a hard time... I asked him to let me open the hood and show him something.. A sticker on the core support from Ford that stated something to the effect of " This truck meets all requirements for a Heavy Duty Truck for the Model Year 1976" The cop gave me a "So"... Trucks in that year wer equipped with blowers on them and were louder than my truck... He handed me my license and told me to drive safe...

Sometimes knowing a little bit about the law and not being an *** to the cop can pay off.

You could of course try to get your primary residence changed to Florida, legally become a Florida resident, and get your plate and registration in Florida. They don't have inspection or emissions. You can run a completely rusted through car w/o a cat and be allowed to drive all the time. Actually quite a few states are that way, however, almost all of them are in the south. This is one of the many, many reasons I hate PA.

That car looked awesome. It was parked right next to me in the lanes and I was afraid that I was going to have to run against it. I think they said they were running a GT42R. They also said they had about 950AWHP - truly sick. I'm pretty sure that they were pissed with that time though, they were looking for 8's and bogged off the line with a slow 10.1 .

Well guys, Game 2 of the Pens playoff's is this Friday night. Since everyone is hoping to have a huge turnout for the meet, maybe we should consider moving it to another day. I will not be there if it's Friday.

I thought it was sort of wierd doing a friday night meet - Sat. night usually works better. Missing the Pens playoff gaming wouldnt be good either...I second this notion .

Yeah, he bogged pretty bad. I wish my dad owned a 950awhp car that I could do quarter miles in . I took a couple of good pics of the engine bay that i'll have to post up.

The meets are usually on Saturdays. I was talking to steelcity Dan last week and told him we better not have a game this Friday, and we do.

If Saturday isn't a possibility, then maybe meet earlier in the day Friday then we could go watch the game later on at D&B or at a bar.

When is Carlisle? Is Carlisle just a big, general car meet? I've never been there.

Edit: Nevermind, just saw the other thread you started...

Jabba Mike used to show at Carlisle and took home the gold a few times I beleive. I think he got screwed last year though and quit going. I'd only go if a few other guys were going.

I certainly don't carry much weight here but I would be in favor of an earlier time on Friday and not a move to Saturday. I got this day off from work two weeks ago and have to work two Sundays because of it. I personally would be rather pissed to have to miss the meet because it was changed a few days before it was scheduled to happen. I am a huge pens fan and if there is a game 5 I already have tickets. I would rather watch it at a sports bar or D&B with a bunch of crazy Pens fans than at home alone with my wife *****ing at me for ignoring her... Just my two cents.
