Well I was actually going to have it done at my dealer. They told me the non-ACD (ie: '03-'04 no MR EVOs) do not use Diaqueen and this sounded odd to me as I thought I remembered even the non-ACD cars using it for some things, such as the t-case you mentioned. But I dont necessarily trust anyone, even the dealer. I am going to have to research this a bit on here...

For your car you will need the Diaqueen LSD gear oil (It is a hypoid GL5 Gear oil.)
You use this stuff in both the transfer case and the rear differential. Do not use anything else in stock trim unless someone like Shep told you to.
For the transmission, like Travis said, create a new concoction and throw it in. I personally tried BGII, Penzoil Synchromesh, Stock, and Redline MT90. Personally while it was in there, BGII was the best shifting oil. But soon after, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sychro's took a ****. And that's basically exactly how it was described to me by Shepperd. It shifts great at the expense of the sychro's. Not worth it.
. Funny that you should mention the beetle is a gay car, I just wrote an article on it expressing similar sentiment. Lemme know if you'd like to read it and i'll PM it to you...its pretty funny.
Saturday is the dyno day and hangout at Buschur's shop and Sunday is race day....

You do know that weekend is the DSM shootout in Norwalk? Its only one of the largest 4G63 gatherings in the country.......and Evo X's are allowed as well, I think they made a new class for them.

Yep, those are probably the same guys that wanted me to bring a jug in and they would fill me up with some 85 weight oil because they had a heart attack when they saw the Diaqueen was $80+ a gallon...and I quote - "Oh my God, that's over $80 a gallon! Are you sure that's what you want?" HAHA ** Edit - Sorry I now remember this was the conversation from the Diaqueen for the MR tranny HAHAHA
I would buy it from a vendor and take it with you - don't even trust the dealer to order the right thing because you'll be lucky if you show up with it in the container and leave with it in the transfer case!

For the five speed I have used MT-90 in two EVO's and not had any issues other then less then stellar shifting when the transmission is cold. I think I tend to stick with it since I know it works more then any other reason
Travis's car does shift very nicely with his blend. I may give that a shot next time.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

I've been meaning to try Motul. However I've had such great success with my tranny mixes (that I got travis hooked on to) that I'm afraid to change and ruin a good thing. The one good thing about the redline shockproof, is it sticks to the gears even after the car has been sitting. So it is ready to go and shifts as soon as you start the car. Some of that other stuff makes it hard to drive for the first few hundred feet and I know forcing it into gear isn't good on parts.
The only reason why I haven't tried shockproof mix on my tranny is I have read
that the 6speed has narrow oil passages and it can become clogged with shock
proof. I have no idea if it's true, but with so many other possible 6 speed problems
I didn't want temp fate.
