AS far as the pace goes, I think we should have some guys who have track experience (myself or Mr. MR) lead the pack and determine the pace. Obviously, we wouldn't go all out the whole time but, portions of the we could be pushing hard for fun. Obviously again, when I say pushing it still can't be ***** out like on a track as you already said, this is a public road and who the heck knows who is going to be out there with us.

If you are looking for some experience for track days you should come with Mr. MR, myself and few other guys to a HPDE day at Watkins Glen on May 8th (a Monday). It will be a blast, plus you can get experience under your belt and will get even more addicted to driving the Evolution even faster.

You're gonna love Warminster I'll be the one with a Silver Evo with a trailer. See ya there!!!

I would go to The Glen in a heartbeat but I do not have enough time accrued at work to go and still hit the tail of the dragon in May which I have had planned for about 4 mos now. I do have a Pocono and a Summit Point track day under my belt but AWD is different.. If I can find a session on a Sat or Sun that is fairly close I will try to get one in before this run too.. Trust me I have been learning the car already with this tires in the cold weather LOL..

Sunday I am mapping out as much of this route as possible on Delorme Street Atlas and then probably next Sunday I will be going out for the 1st prerun.
I will get some pics..

As for the run.. of course those with the most experience can be up front.. and I think we are both thinking similar regarding pace. I am planning a nice route so it wont be back and forth on 125 but we will sure get a few runs in going both ways..

Thanks for your feedback!

I will be taking my Ford ZX2 daily beater to do this and will be searching for road names etc so its not going to be that fun.. Let me get a few preruns under my belt and get familiar with the roads and will see if your free to go up and get pics and your advise etc.. Fair deal?

Most important thing is to remember that this meet is on Public Roads - that is the limiting factor.

As far as the autoX - is this on the old airstrip at the Johnsville Navy Base?

Meanmud,

I am not sure what the name of the airfield is but, it is now called Warminster Community Park (or something along those lines). Check out www.phillyscca.com for more details.

Hope to see you there

Pace? WTF its a public road and I'm not wrecking the car or going to jail. I am too old for that **** anyways. You don't need a track day or race experience to go for a cruise. I myself will keep my ******* factor in check and so should everyone else. If not someone will definately have an incident and we will all feel like *******s. It doesn't matter who leads if everyone has the mindset we are just cruising some cool *** PA roads and NOT running in the Gumball rally/Pike's Peak Hill Climb/WRC/Gran Turismo.

Meanmud, I am not sure of the name of the base, but it hasn't been in operation for years. The entrance is off of Jacksonville Rd and Bristol Rd. Approx. 10 mins. from Willow Grove exit of turnpike. It is a perfect place for an Autox. Plenty of room, nothing to hit and usually a great course. I hope all you Evo guys "who rip it up on the street" bring it there, so you can be taught a lesson. In fact, I will be your teacher. That way we can get all the racing done before hand and have nothing to prove. Even better, would be the track, but like evo8dad said thats in May.

My thoughts exactly

Yup - it's the old Naval base. Years ago, there were talks of it becoming a race track of some sorts????

I used to live along the south fence of the property in the eighties

Yeah you guys are right. The pace should be kept to a minimum being that it is a public road, I guess I got to excited about the prospect of having a dozen or so Evolutions in one place at the same time

For those of you considering running at Warminster, stop thinking about it and come. It is probably the best setup Philly runs in and it is a blast

I was hoping for a more gentle cruise pace as well.
