I have no guages or anything.. It was a pop and then the rpms fell off. I was letting my buddy drive it to hear the new exhaust and it was NOT at redline.. I thought his foot popped off the clutch or something because he was in second gear and yes the car was well warmed up.
He about left a "brick" on my seat LOL.. So he told me to drive and I did.. It happened to me at about 80 mph in 4th gear.. I took it easy from there and there is not ticking or anything. I parked it and started dialogue with David Buschur on here and he was very helpful.. Took it to my friends goodyear shop in Southampton and he read the code for me..

I have no clue what the numbers are but David said it is the first time he has ever heard of this happening on a stock car wih only exhaust. He advised that I get it tuned without delay so tomorrow I am buying the punch list of items suggested by Al at DynoFlash.. MBC, Walbro 255 fuel pump, Buschur Air Filter Kit. Then I have to go to CT to get the tune done.

Well as far as this run goes.. Would you like to give out info on the fund and also take donations from this group? Then I would say go for it and then plan a sponsorship run..

I have a Maryland Crab Run mapped out already that I did last year for www.tristatetuners.com that you can use if you like.

I was checking out the web site and do not see where you can donate <I may have missed that> so perhaps you could tell us where to make out a check to and we can each donate for this run and then as suggested .. a sponsored run could be set up.

Whatcha think?

Craig

you dont have to go to CT to get Al to tune your car. If I remember correctly, he is coming here in April to tune the dc evo club members. The only downside is that is a ways away...

I do not drive around with my foot in it all the time but once in a while you just want to with this car. I am just afraid to wait that long.. I do not mind driving up one night and geting a motel, then getting tuned the next day and then driving home.. I could use a day off but I really apprecaite the suggestion.

Instead of a Dynoflash you could get the ECU+. That way you an it yourself or on a local dyno for each mod you do rather depending on Al to do it.

I have the ECU+ and have had it for nearly 3 years now and I absolutely love it. Check out www.ecuplus.com.

I don't think you can run it on the IX

Yeah, I'm not sure it would work either.

I think the ECU is different on the 9 because of MIVEC.

I am a little nervous about driving the car on auto X on the 18th. If its warm I should be ok but if its cold I will have to pass. It has only happened when its very cold. I got a CEL and had the code read and it was something like P0123 or something like that and it said "Overboost Condition" I am not trying to break this engine with 1600 miles on it.

Craig
You should get aq boost guage in your car ASAP. I agree if you are throwing a code that something is goofy. I know when I put my Buschur exhaust on my car, I threw a CEL, but not a overboost code. I just got some spark plug anti fouler things from Pep Boys and screwed them into exhaust and then screw O2 sensor into the antifoulers and no more CEL. In your case sounds like a totally different thing, besides the fact I have an 05 and you have an 06. I would plat it by ear on the 18th, if the weather is warm, you should be fine. If it is colder than 45 degrees, you should blow it off since that definately increases chance of overboosting. Last time at Warminster I had bounced off the rev limiter in second at one point. Hopefully it will work out for you, either way not worth screwing your car up.

I am ordering Defi guages this week hopefully and also will be tuned at Turbo Trix in April.. Shiv opened up a 9th spot and I jumped on it. I will let you know what my plans are as the weather for this weekend coming becomes more clear.
I am gonna suck but willing to give it a shot.

As for the car's code.. it happened when it was freezing out. I was def not a cel from the test pipe. I ordered the fix with that when I got the pipe.

So by the way everyone.. Much to my displeasure I did not make it out to do a prerun this weekend. I had to take care of getting my Mini towed after hitting a deer on Friday night. So by the time they finally got there etc it was 1pm and my day was shot.. I will get out there hopefully next weekend and will have some pics and feedback.

Sort of - you pay and pay for years, then you need to file a claim and your rates go up

There needs to be an Insurance Mutiny!

Allstate said it was a no fault and that my rates will not go up due to this.
WE WILL SEE but I am hoping they are telling the truth.
