Sunrise Mitsu

The sales guy tried to sell me a silver EVO with tons of scratches on the door, 200 miles on the odometer, and chips in the paint for a little over sticker. At the same time they low-balled me on the trade-in and told me that I would not be able to buy the car that day. When I told them that I had a deal close to done with another dealership - they told me to go with them.

Moral of the story:

Don't settle. That silver EVO was a mess. I can't believe they would even consider selling that thing with scrathes, chips and 200 miles on the odometer.

VE,

Damm right.... Don't put your hard money down unless you are completely satisfied.

There are enough of these cars available to find what you want for the price you want.

I bought mine there with 83 miles. I have not had any complaints so far. My salesman no longer works there though.

Stick to your guns and get what you want...

This makes me mad cuz you are supposed to get a low-milege vehicle.

I went to Bay ridge mitsubishi in brookly and most of their cars had like 15-35-40 miles on the clock.

My buddy and I were mad so we went to Lasorsa in the bronx and got a new white evo (showroom display model) with 10 miles on it. When i get mine, I wont but anything with more than 10 miles on the clock...

Stick to your guns and demamd a perfect condition vehicle.

I just couldn't believe the response I received when I mentioned the 200 miles on the odometer. When I saw it, my eyes bugged out.

I was like: WHOA! What's with the miles on this car? This isn't new...this is broken in...

Salesperson (which shall remain nameless): Well there aren't too many of these out there so you have to figure destination and about 2-3 testdrives....

Me: 2-3 testdrives! Where the hell did they go?

The salesperson took exception to my observation. I didn't like how they treated me there. Plain and simple. The salesperson I am working with over in Lindenhurst used to work at Sunrise. When I mentioned the deal I had in place at Island Mitsu and who I had a deal with - the salesperson at Sunrise bad mouthed him and just mumbled something under his breath. Very unprofessional. The 45 minute ride out there was a waste of my time.

That silver EVO is their test drive car! I test drove it like 2 months ago and I mentioned to the salesman that they must beat on this car because the tires were destroyed. All he said was that they would have to sell this one for less. I also did not like their attitude when settling on a price. I also got excellent deals from dealerships in New Jersey but Sunrise would not even come close.

Did Lasorsa sell you the car under MSRP?

Thanks
Doug

Oh that just pisses me off that the salesman would pawn that car off like it was in the lot waiting for me to buy it. They must take that car home as well cause its got some door dings and ****.

What deal are you getting at the Lindenhurst dealership?

Are you afraid of repercussions? Why should the salesman remain nameless? Why should you be respectful if he tried to scam you like that. I was planning on going back there but after the scam they tried to pull on you I am not. That's why I am curious who it was?!!!??!?

Salesman are notorious for intimadating customers and pinching every dollar from them. Don't be that person, remember you are running the show because you have the money! Yes you must both agree on a price but until then don't make a decision unless you are sure of it. There is nothing wrong with being a smart shopper and looking around. Good luck!!!

I'm getting a pretty good deal at Lindenhurst. I placed a deposit on a black EVO with 25 miles on the odometer. The car's just got the wing - no roof. We worked out a deal for 29k. I think its pretty good.

When I mentioned that I had a deal with Island Mitsu to the salesman at Sunrise - he questioned my integrity by asking me if I had actually seen the car, if the car was at the that exact dealership and who I had spoken to. When I mentioned the name - he was taken aback by the fact that I was serious - and I had proven my sincerity.

He also said that Island Mistu isn't a Triple Diamond Certified dealer and that they should not be getting any EVO's. When I showed him the business card of Island Mitsubishi with the Triple Diamond stamp on it - he was speechless. He shook my hand and wished me luck - the only professional act that was displayed.

All in all - I would NOT recommened Sunrise to anyone. I don't like how they treated me nor how they spoke about other dealerships and people that I mentioned. It's very distasteful and unprofessional to speak badly about a competitor in front of a customer. Especially when you are proved wrong.

Island was honest and forthwright from the beginning and told me - straight up - how low they would be able to go. And I was able to secure the car with a 20 dollar deposit!!!!!!!!! I told him I was not comfortable giving more than what I had in my pocket and they worked with me.

I cannot ask for anything more!

Island Mitsu

vanillaEps where are you from? Island does sound very honest. I spoke with them about 2 months ago and they sounded very respectful.
