I think the wheels need to be turning for the TPMS to work. Don't quote me on that, I remember reading it on evom.

that's kind of like this one guy on here that formed a piece of plastic to put in the seatbelt fastener so that he didn't have to be annoyed by the chiming when he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. kind of a lot of trouble to be unsafe.

btw that seatbelt warning is very inconsistent. if i pull my car into the garage from the driveway without it on the chiming goes off but i can also get in a let it rip to 80 mph without a seatbelt and nothing until a few miles down the road. kind of strange if you ask me.

there should be a 2-wire harness underneath the seat that is connected to the seat belt... unplug it and there should be no more dinging.

my seat belt is inconsistent too. i usually take it off within a block of being home, sometimes it will dig, others it wont. must just be a mitsu thing?

is that what you did?

i think the same harness in the X has something to do with the airbags. i could be wrong but that was the reason that dude made a plastic piece to put in instead of the belt because he couldn't disable the dinging alone.

i can live with it. i don't drive around much without a seatbelt.

Yes, it is! I am going to try and strike a deal with my dealer. I'll use some BS that driving on the stock tires is hazardous to my health in the winter, and that I want to also be safe and use the sensors, so maybe they can cut me some slack when I change the wheels?

I would pay the first time for the new sensors to be programmed, but maybe I can get reprogramming done cheap (like $10 from here on out). I would probably only do it when it's time for an oil change anyway, so my car would already be there.

It's worth a shot. I've been going there for 7 years. Let's see how much customer loyalty gets me...
