Damn Pete, things really aren't going your way. But on the bright side, it could only get better right?

Where did A-Bomb come from?

Petey, sorry to hear about your car getting jacked. I've had that happen to me, its no fun.

Marc, I'm not gonna make it tonight. I would like too, but its just not going to happen. Another time perhaps...

Just found out it was not stolen.. Turns out "community services" towed it because they considered it abandoned because the Reg sticker was not up to date.. It is some city thing that has nothing to do with the PPA.. They auction the vehicle in 7 days if not claimed lol..

So I get to pay the equivelent of about what the car is worth to get it back, good times..

what?!?! do you mean you have to pay the towing and storage and that is equal to the car's value (i.e., not worth that much)? or they are assessing a fee that is close to the car's value?

i really don't get towing a lot of times. someone can come around and take your property and insist you pay dearly for it to get it back. if it were parked illegally then i get it but stuff like this?

you know how many tourists i used to see in miami (when i lived there) in near tears at the end of the night because their car was towed away for whatever reason?

Petey, did you file stolen car report with Phillies finest? That would be classic... Yeah in phila I think they can just confiscate your car if it's not registered. You know in Pa you lose your license if you get a ticket for driving an unregistered vehicle and plead guilty. Automatic 6 month suspension.

Well, I would have loved to meet you guys at one of the meets if possible, but it seems its not meant to be. Things went horribly south for me in the last two weeks. Laid off AND being kicked out of the country due to visa problems. At this point, I don't know if I'll be able to come back. Considering the EVO is my ONLY asset in this country, I'll be sure to let you guys know if it ever goes on sale. For now, the plan is to just leave it unregistered/uninsured in my dad's garage in VA.

So long guys!

It's a 97 altima with 285,000 miles, So I would think it's only worth a couple hundred bucks, but she still runs ok!! I normally use it when I don't feel like going through the hassle of building ramps to get in and out of my garage, and/or if my neighbors park in such a manner that makes it impossible for me to pull out of the garage..

The thing that bothers me is they can take the vehicle and not have to notify you at all.. I mean if I was on vacation they can take it and auction it off before I even get back and keep the money on top of it..

What ever happened to just putting a ticket on the car??
