thanks. i swear i am married to this retarded job. i was basically told since i am a one man show here that taking off will require bringing in agency help or per diem staff which costs a lot of money. and since the health system is cutting back in all areas it is in their best financial interest to have me work every day of the year because it is cheaper.
i put in for a week off at the end of the month in february and found coverage for only two days. so i was told that i could go only on those two days. i will probably be fired at the end of the month for taking the whole week.
let's not forget that this is illegal. I am the only employee in the hospital with 190 vacation hours.

I still have 18 vacation days to use. I'm using 8 around christmas, so I'll have almost 3 weeks off of work!
(that's when our baby is due though)

It always amazes me that when I hop on here its always the same ppl posting about and not getting any work done. I feel ya tho I left 2 hrs early yesterday and came in this morning closed m door turned the lights out and took an hour and a half nap...not good for productivity.
