I was planning on Oaks tonight, but my "beater" was swapped for Marcs Evo haha. Won't be driving that all the way up there, I'll see if I can hitch a ride

i think tim and jeff are going.

i am not because of the weather. we should plan on either the first or second tuesday of august to do the beater/ricer meet. i would like a good turn out from the other groups, so that it isn't like 5 cars and our beaters. plus it gives me more time to get some ricer mods for the corrolla. i may even dress like a tough white boy racer.

Well guys I'm really excited!! I just ordered my Mil.spec 65mm TB. I extremely tempted to buy the JMFab Twinscroll Tubular Manifold for my FP Red. Also I'll be dropping off my Valve Cover and and Cusco Front Power Brace to JNZ Tuning for a Candy Purple powdercoating. It closely resembles the HKS Purple. Almost forgot......replacing every nut and bolt I can find in the engine bay with 316 Stainless. You ask why??? Well lets just say that I have a very reliable source where I can get them for free.

You need to just do the intake manifold too while you're on a roll. MAPerformance Rev2 or 3 would go well with your setup!

So I'm wondering now if maybe its my intake manifold gasket. I was wetting it down with ice water pretty good while racing. Not that it would have been the first time I ever got it wet, but I think that would explain some of things it was doing, ie... rough idle, building boost but not revs (seemed like it did this a little bit, not severely though)... I'm not sure that it would/could create the ticking sound though?

Any of you guys have any thoughts on that?

Also, I do not have a boost leak tester, and I don't have compressed air even if I did. How else can I test to see if its the gasket? I don't want to start the car incase it isn't.

I doubt its the IM gasket. building boost but not revs sounds like a clogged cat.

what's your plan of attack on this thing pete?

not to take the focus away from pete. his issue is a lot bigger.

i think i messed my alignment up this weekend when rotating my tires. well at least i hope that's all it is. i've done is a thousand times before. now when i am on the highway, it pulls slightly to the right and under swift acceleration it practically changes lanes. i don't have any significant vibration or noise and the wheels are torqued on correctly. think it is just the alignment or did i royal F something up (bent suspension or chassis?)? (i sound like one of those punks in the X forums...always worrying. i am going to try to get it looked at today or tomorrow).

sorry pete, your issue is bigger compared to mine....if i just an alignment.

I dont think you royally f'd up anything. Maybe the tires have alittle uneven wear, so it will pull alittle. But you should check the alignment nonetheless. GL.

Pete, I don't think the intake manifold effects anything. Engine bays are pretty water tight. I know you're anxious, but lets wait and see what Petey comes up with.

I'll let you know Brian. Problem is I can't exactly compare before/after though. I will be getting retuned to about 30psi with this installed compared 25psi with stocker.

Chu, I don't want to drop the dough on an intake mani. When I compare Price, Loss of Spool, compared to gains....it doesn't seem to add up. My throttle body is corroded to hell. It was a simple decision to upgrade to the 65mm.
