Hey Chu, I've been considering your advice on the MAP rev2, or rev3. If I can find the funds I might just go ahead and do this. I've seen the results they posted on their site but I want to find more on here before I'm completely convinced. They're advertising gains in torque/hp and increase in spool on some setups. I thought this was typically the opposite. Don't most mods like this kill some spool but help in the top end? Not sure but I'll let you know what I do.

Also forgot to mention a thread I just read yesterday that got me thinking about porting my Red. The OP was "scheides" and he had this done to his BBK with great results. It would be nice to get some nice porting done to the compressor inlet and turbine outlet. Petey what do you think of this?

THe stock manifolds dont loose much since the plenum and runners aren't changed too much. Most aftermarket ones are sheet metal and built for top-end, hence the lost on the low-end torque...gotta sacrifice somewhere right. If you're planning to go all out, get the rev3. They actually cut the manifold in half to port it, then weld it back together. Thats why it's $400 more than the rev2, but you're a balla!

As for the turbo, I think FP ports the compressor side to fit the larger compressor wheel. But the turbine outlet can still be ported for better flow. Petey should know more, and hopefully will chime in.

I'm sorry I meant Compressor Outlet. I don't know if they port this portion. Turbine side is a definate since I didn't get the porting option when I bought the Red. I'm feeling a snow ball effect coming on here. Now that things are pulled apart I'm trying to think of things to maximize my current setup. Wish I could just grow some money like a Chia Pet.....haha

This is the exact thread that got me interested in the MAP Porting. I figure I can do a rev3 to match my 65mm TB along with that tubular mani and I should be breathing better up top for sure.

Porting as chu said would be a perfect next step..Just port your turbo AND exhaust manifold at the same time. No need to port the compressor housing of the turbo at all, but there is plenty to do on the hotside of the turbo, as well as the ins and outs of the exhaust manifold.. IF you have a bigger TB you should have had your intake manny ported already!!

Just ordered my parts guys. Headgasket, plugs and valve cover gaskets. Now I just need to order headstuds. I figure why not, he's gonna be in there anyways. I'm just going to go with the regular ARP ones.
The plan is to get my car towed next week and then he can start on it the week of the 10th. She's gonna be down a while longer... I just hope I didn't do any real damage to the cylinder wall.

Marc, he means Treo. I had them, one of the best I've owned. I had the 650, then went to a 680. Way better than the Blackberries.
