Hey Guys do think it's possible to make a High 10sec pass with my setup on E-85 or Pump+Meth? Been lurking in the Drag Racing section and now thinking it's possible.

On 500hp meth or e85 program I think it is very possible to do that if the car is not too heavy.

It's going to come down to what trans/clutch setup your running, tires, and a lot of practice at the strip. I know Petey's run some strong 11 sec times, but i know of other local guys spinning the front tires coming out of the hole with less power then you. With a good tune and your setup though i would believe you have the power to be close.

You know what the biggest part of all this tuning, and power, and whatever is?

If you cannot drive the car no matter what it will not run the times period.

I notice it all the time.

Customers come in get tuned with the same HP and one is going 11.7@119 and the other 12.2@112, alot of focus needs to be put on driving ability.

Petey is a great driver. At Englishtown, he ran 11.7 on E85, snow tires, full interior. His car makes 370-380hp. He was one of the top 10 fastest stock turbo evos a year ago, literally stock turbo...nnot stock framed bs!

Well thanks for the input guys. I'll have to get some practice at the shootout before I try to make some big numbers. Maybe we can post up the slips in here after the event and see if we can break them down. I usually run them by Warrtalon but sometimes he's a tough critic....haha.

I think it's a good idea. It would be neat to have a large meet and see cars we've never seen before. You would need to find a place in the middle of the state along the turnpike, somewhere around Bedford maybe. It would be about 2 hours for both parties. It's going to take some prep time and planning to pull it off, but can be done.

If you could say there will be 4-50 Evo's there, then that's something I would definitely consider going to.

Well said Sean. Just like the guy going 12.4 in his X with ONLY a tune! That's insane! Oh, and I believe he was tuned by you....

haha Trust me man I've been around a while and have known pete's car since he got it. No bs racing rite there, people really have no idea. If you can has a proper setup and you learn to drive you'd be surprised how much of a difference that makes.
His car should prove to a lot of people how its all in the setup/driver and not money and parts. I try to explain this to so many people and they just don't get it.

I hope you run at the shootout this year but you should head up to Atco next time i post up about it to get practice runs in. E-town is a nicer track and i would prefer to run there but for a test and tune Atco is the place to be. A lot less expensive and you can easily go on a thursday night and get 5-6 runs in at least.

I hear ya Chip. I'm very consistent with launching my car but I still haven't cut anything better than a 1.78 on my 60'. I haven't messed with tire pressures or suspension so maybe that'll help too. I've got a good setup just need to tweak some things on the car and maybe grab some tips from Petey...haha.

Yo Jim, and anyone else for that matter, if you have a system, and worry about taking it in and out for racing, I've got a solution. I'm gonna finish it up tomorrow and post pics of it. Nothing special by any means, but a quick solution for removal at the track nonetheless.
