hey scott this is ryan, i met you last night at oaks with steve. i was checking out the IC too. bump for a nice piece, saw it in person and its exactly what he said. fins bent but everything else good to go. if i had the money i would scoop this up. glws man.

They would look sweet in my engine bay. Can you make any real gains with cam gears? I don't really see anyone running them. Especially the IX's. Also, what else do you have inline for round 2 before you get the tune? I'm dying to get tuned on meth but I just can't pull the trigger until I decide on an intake manifold. I'll just have to wait.

As for Petey and the rest of the crew that's racing, are you all running headsup? It almost sounds like you'll need anything from the Green, BBK, Red size turbos +meth or E-85 to even have a fighting chance.......Petey (reigning champ) is obviously the exception....haha

 

Jim, I have cams, IX turbo w/ upgraded wastegate, 02 housing, and LICP. Hopefully ported manifold and hotside, and bigger injectors to get an E85 tuned soon. I haven't seen too many with cam gears, and I dont know what they will add, but I hear on the loppy cams, the gears help smooth the idle (?). Also, for the IXs, its only recommend that the exhaust gear be changed, not the intake. I'm doing this for pure aesthetics...always wanted those gears. I'm looking to maximize the stock turbo output, so next would be tb and intake mani like you...lol.

BTW Dave, what are your numbers? I hate you IX guys, always making more with less mods!

 

E-85? How are you getting away with that? Evo not your Daily Driver? I'm jealous!!! Hopefully I'll stay ahead of you with the meth!!! If you end up buying an intake manifold before me then I'll buy one as soon as I found out that you did.....haha. I gotta stay ahead of the competition.

 

Hahaha, you're way ahead of me for a while. I do things very slowly, lol. The evo is my dd, so this is where the map switch will work out. I'll be running 93 most of the time, but like the option of running the juice for some fun! My E30 is also almost ready for the streets!

 

Ill have to take a look at my dyno sheets again. In 90 degree weather i made a tad over 80lbs of tourque at 25psi. I need to put my boost gauge in but i think i spiked at 26psi. Either way i am very happy with with the APAT

Ryan- Honestly i didnt even see the cop lol. I guess i was just out in la la land. I still need to hear my car from behind WOT. Maybe i can get you to drive it for me sometime soon and lemme hear what all the fuss is about lol.

Hopefully ill be getting that meth kit, ported exhaust manifold, and another LICP then another tune. Cant wait

i hear ya. it is so slow here in the hospital. jim, you work pretty close to me in south philly. you should swing by and we can go to pep boys and buy a bunch of sticky plastic chrome crap to rice out your DD then try to race every punk at every light on delaware avenue.

 

Just one of the slow, dreary rainy thursday afternoons. I rather it rain today and mess me up from finishing my projects outside then on sunday. So lets hope for that.

 

Haha.... That would be fun but I'd hate to beat on the poor thing. It's allowing me to keep the Beast at home!!! I'm actually picking the car up from JNZ today. I have to do a boost leak test and go over all of my vacuum lines toake sure she's good for Sunday. Then Im going to start stripping her down to fighting weight to help keep up with the pack.

 

All this talk of you guys getting your car together has got me thinking of hurrying my install. But I'm gonna try to hold off...I dont want to be stuck without the Evo on Sunday.
