I did about 1100 break-in miles on my last twin disc before I started beating on it.
With organic discs you really need to let them bed in properly if you want a long service life.

Right after my twin disk got done, I was doing commutes for work from Philly to Delaware, so the clutch definitely got broken in during heavy traffic in the afternoon. Did it for about 5 weeks so it had a good break-in period. This was back in March /April timeframe, so I'm thinking I have 6-8 thousand miles on it already.

Twins are organic disc? Why? That seems rather stupid to me...

Thats as many miles as I do in a year in my Evo... I'm sure it will be even less this year.

why's that stupid? I think you can get the exedy with two different types of disc material, one is regular and one it HD.

organic is great if the clutch is setup right. you can't expect a single organic disc with the stock PP to hold 400wtq. the twin disc in my z06 is also organic btw.

You really dont need to break them in, but its recommended by Exedy. I remember a convo a couple years back when they first released the hd and they said it had more to do with the flywheel and intermediate plate than the actual disk itself.

Don't know... just seems silly to spend all that money and get a/two *hitty organic disc. I would have thought they were Kelvar or something stronger thats all... WTF do I know... I'm not an engineer... I'm just a regular guy with a broken *** car.

I dont know about the SD, but I dont think the HD is organic. I'm running the HD version and what a great clutch it is. Glad I spent the money on it. BTW, someone in the F/S section is selling an HKS twin for 1000, bnib.

BTW, did anyone else see the Phils sweep the Cubs this week? I just bought a case of Treogs to celebrate in my hotel room, lol
