Philadelphia Car Meets
pete, damn im gona for a couple hrs and miss 3 pgs of posts. alright chu ill give credit where credit is due. nice spot. i still cant believe i bought them, such an unnecesary expense at this point but i simply couldnt pass up that deal. they do have a few wear marks from being the front tires but ill swap them in the back and be good to go. im just buying left and right now its not good.
pete, yea im hoping to improve on the next autoX. my goal is to learn the course slow then take it fast. hopefully the nittos will help. my main purpose in having those is to not scrub the crap outta the re-01rs like last time. absolutely killed them and need those for the daily.
i already ordered those wheels so im just waiting on petey to set it up and we will be good to roll! there gona look so good i think
btw whats everyone doing this coming sunday? trying to do something like grab some burgers and some beer and kick it...

we're supposed to have another cruise on the 23rd in the reading area. should be some awesome roads out there. pete, hopefully you can get all fixed up by then. it won't be the same without you. and it would be awesome if i could have my exhaust installed by then too.....it will be close as it is coming the week before.
btw anybody familiar with removing a pill from the boost solenoids? do i remove the entire line (it's about 4 inches) and push the pill out? i have an off the shelf map to run after i get my exhaust on. i plan to get a custom tune before the end of the summer. i just want something to run until then. i may get an UIP before the tune too. (i am totally biting off of tim but that seems to be the right sequence to mod X's).
UGH, chalk up one victory for gnarled curb!!
Looks like a necessary front end makeover for me asap.
Feel like more and more of us are having just straight bad luck with our cars recently, when are all the good things gonna roll around, I wanna hear about some lottery winnings or something.
Regardless FML for the moment

ryan, i don't have any major plans for sunday so if people all want to do something, then i'm game. i don't know about getting a cruise together but i'd do that too.

As far as putting your exhaust on and getting an off-the-shelf tune. I would be very weary of that. I had a mail-in flash on my car and it used to knock and pull timimg all the time. I would wait and get it all done at once, esp since the X's seem to be so finicky when it comes to mods. You don't need that thing to throw itself into limp mode on you. I'm not sure about what to do with the restrictor pill either, I've never hooked up a MBC myself...

Pulling into a sev, same as always low and slow and at a crazy shallow angle to be alright. After it happened I went back to see how the hell I could have dragged that bad and there was a section of concrete dislodged that kinda took a bite.
Stressed the bumper so bad its hanging real low and even pulled paint off under the headlight.

. So I come out this morning to figure out what kind of hack job Tweeter did on my stereo install and I look at the side of my car and it has SAP sprayed all over the side of my f'ing car!! I hate trees!!!! Like my leaking valve cover isn't enough
. Oh well, I'm pulling all of the wiring from the system I had in the car. No more sound for me. It's all coming out.
I knew what you were referring to right away Doug, Sorry to hear! That's a real bummerHaha....I hear ya on that one man. I'll feel like there's a dark cloud over the Philadelphia area guys...

doug. let me guess it is the 711 on like 38th and chestnut (i'm just thinking university city where you live). sorry to hear that. i drove to and from work slowly and carefully yesterday after hearing of everyone's bad luck.
pete, i am weary of off the shelf tunes. i know i need a custom tune and i wasn't going to get one with all stock hard parts on because i think that is a waste of money. the off the shelf tune i am running now has surprisingly been good. i thought it was knocking at first at light load in low rpms but it seems that tuners are learning that the ecu is using knock sensor input in these cells to control various engine functions. i was going to try the Cobb stage 2 map on the way home from getting the exhaust installed and take logs the whole way. any issues, then it is going back to stock tune and waiting to get tuned.
i'd figured i try it at first considering tim had a couple of CELs on the stock tune after his mods were installed.

Im sorry about everyones luck! Makes me really sad
On another note, I would like to thank Mitsubishi and it's dealerships for A.) Putting too much plastic on the Evo X - took 45 minutes just to tape this one up and B.) "Detailing" their cars and making me fix them when they look like this....my work is cut out for me....

nick my X looked like that after the first wash. after being at the body shop for a fix, they compounded down the whole thing when they detailed it (i think). there are some horrible spots on it and i will probably end up getting it all repainted somewhere down the line.
